I was seeing what I could do in animal crossing New Leaf and I took my shoes and socks off only to find... HOOVES? They only have two toes ;-; it's scary honestly

At least for my character, the forest curse that was placed onto him is the reason he has hooves

I’m not sure why every other villager is like that, though. It’s probably because the hands are similarly VERY simplistic. It’s just been the style for the series, and they never bothered to make the feet more complex when they allowed shoes to be taken off.

I kinda like them :) I think a bunch of toes might look creepy. Maybe I’m just used to it?

I never noticed that before. I guess I've never gone bare-foot in the game. I checked out what it looks like and it is interesting. I actually would have guessed that the feet would have been completely rounded at the toes because of the way the hands are drawn, so this surprised me.

Yeah, that would be nice. I don't think the feet really fit with the character atm.

Have you noticed our hands are.... balls?! There's this funny episode of the Powerpuff Girls where they switch bodies with the professor, Miss Bellum and the mayor and Buttercup is disgusted when she sees she has fingers (in the professor's body).

It's weird and almost uncanny because when you walk on grass, sand, etc, you end up with fairly realistic looking footprints on the ground.
But yeah, everything when it comes to the anatomy of both humans and animals in the whole series is extremely stylized.

In NH they changed it so the player leaves “hoofprints” in the sand. It’s odd that NL left it more detailed for some reason...

Oh my goodness, lol. I didn't realize (or just forgot) that their little feet look like that in New Leaf! My mayor always wears shoes for a reason. 😂 At least their hooves aren't as bad as the ones in Fire Emblem Awakening!

I had a similar realization when I realized that my hands were just little balls, haha. It weirded me out.
