Why are some villagers rarer than others?

I'm looking for Felicity, Rosie, Skye, etc.

However, after plot resetting 200 times, I haven't gotten any of these, yet I've gotten Quillson and other undesirables 5-6 times. Are certain villagers rarer than others? (Also, if you have any of these villagers, DM me )

They are not rare. Each villager has the exact same chance to appear in any town. There are 333 villagers total in ACNL which means you have a 1 in 333 chance, which is a 0.003% chance for a desired villager to appear.

No, it's completely random. No villagers are rarer than others. I don't think any villagers are "undesirable", there's always someone out there who likes a certain villager.

Agreed. Thread poster mentioned Quillson being undesirable and I happen to find Quillson adorable. If I needed another smug villager, I'd definitely pick him. o 3o

Tier 5 is nicknamed undesirables. I wasn't trying to hate and I don't have anything again'st villagers in those kind of tiers (I happen to love Cousteau lol), but I was just trying to place the villagers I was getting commonly in a category people would understand. Please don't be offended, I didn't mean anything by it :3

I would love it because people cared enough to give me a nickname.

Plus, if those types of villagers are generally undesired, then they are going to be called undesirables. However, being called pessimistic when you're actually extremely Optimistic and everyone thinks so would lead to a pointless name.
