Why are people on Club Tortimer so disgusting?

I don't get why people try to hit on me on the island. You're there to make bells, so you can stop begging for them. I just think it's disgusting. I hate the thought of pedophiles being on CT. I've never had issues with pedophiles, but I've seen some hella creepy boys A LOT younger than met trying to hit on me and the girls on the island. Seriously, Why the hell are they so perverted?

I remember I got to the island once, and this guy asked me my age. I didn't respond, because they had a fricken toy hammer and I was buying it. He then proceeded to call me "Bae" and "Baby." This kid could've been 8 for all I know. I then told him "What the hell is wrong with you?" He then proceeded to hit on me, and say inappropriate things. I asked Lelani to go home, and he said "No! plz don't leave! ur my only love." I turned around, and the last thing I said to him was, "And you're a pervert, smh" and then I left.

And it's also girls as well. Girls never flirt with me, but I see them flirting with the boys, and saying nasty things. I remember one time, there was an 8 yr old girl and boy. They were the same age, and apparently were on a "date." The little girl asked me, "Can you be our butler?" I thought to myself, I wanted to flip the wi-fi, but I didn't wanna break her heart. But I did the right thing and flipped the switch.

I had an odd experience where this girl kept calling this other person her "prince". Not only from that but it was one of the oddest experiences I've experienced at CT, the other kid kept writing arrows like "^" or "------->". Then they started tag team hitting me with shovels and axes xD

To brighten up the mood, I had quite a funny experience on the international island, there was a guy from Japan there. He said hi to me in English and I said hi back and then he kept messaging in Japanese (which I don't understand a bit of). So we decided to show each other our patterns. He apparently doesn't like the Steamed Hams meme as I pulled out my "Steamed Hams" shirt design (it's a design with Seymour Skinner from The Simpsons holding a hamburger) and kept constantly doing the angry emote after I did that.

You get all sorts of weirdos. I remember a few years back. There was this guy and 2 other girls. This guy just had a really bad creep factor about him, asking weird and personal questions. You know when you just have a gut feeling. Anyway I just felt really weirded out by him. It disconnected, though I think the 2 girls were aware of him :I

a lot of people who play the game are irresponsible kids. i’ve had some pervert experiences on the island and majority were just hilarious.

if they really bug you, go on a tour or mute them. otherwise just laugh it off because almost all of these people are little kids

i'm 99% sure is a troll and wasn't actually trying to hit on you idk you can just tell by the words hes using he's prob 13-16 y/o trying to mess with people.

there should be a report option for CT though cause I agree a lot of young people play this game, and will go there and people will say dirty / rude things weather they're joking or not shouldn't be said to a child.
so yeah i think it'd be nice if you could report a visit and then they could check the conversation ? (that way ppl don't get in trouble for false reports) and ban them from CT

also the 2nd situation literally doesn't even sound bad...? they were just role-playing that they were on a date .... lol. they're children sheesh. i mean if they were role playing something dirty then yeah that's an issue but it wasn't.

There are very young, unsupervised children playing this game. When you come across someone like that who is behaving inappropriately, simply end your visit and go home. No sense letting someone else try and ruin the fun for you. But there are rotten apples everywhere. Stay safe

ive been seeing a lot of posts like this lately, I didn't know CT got THIS bad, that almost everybody is complaining about it the past few days lol.
tbh just go to the island by yourself aka offline with no other people, its better this way if you're looking to farm fish/bugs that is.
but if you're there for the island items... the moment you arrive you can just check the shop, if you didn't find anything, just call kappn to get you back home.
& if you want to meet active players just check the Train station thread & add people to play with lol

I went to CT like probably twice & it was more than enough for me to stop going there, it wasn't as bad as the others experiences but it was annoying.
met two children that are annoying (one girl & one boy), refused to share, kept running around the island making bugs fly away & the little boy kept catching all of the sharks.
after that encounter I just never went back to CT ever lol.

also you don't even have to bother going to CT anymore, cause a lot of great & wonderful fellow TBT's are selling island stuff, bless them lol

Also, as soon as you get there, if you're the only one there, quickly start a tour,but don't go on it, no one can come if there's a tour started. I've never had any trouble at CT ever, sometime you just get lemons.

I've met some real nasty people on Club Tortimer. The place is a cesspool that needs to be moderated next game.

Despite that, I have met some genuinely nice people on Club Tortimer. It's a shame some people have to ruin what could be a fun experience.

Out of all my island visits, I've had maybe three or so I can state as really bad and the rest were relatively nice. I lost count to be honest, because no one counts their good visits and or positive experiences. We as humans only reflect on the negative the most. It's sad, but true.

I have crossed paths with quite a few, uhm, less than friendly people on Club Tortimer. I haven't gone in a while though.

It's easy to ignore people asking for bells, and some mild comments, but the thought of people being really crass, crude and mean on the island really worries me, especially since a lot of them are the "edgy teen" type who really should know better. It's not that it bothers me personally, it's just the fact that the game has a young demographic. My sister is 9, and the thought of her going to the island and coming across someone like this doesn't sit well with me. There really is a time and a place.

I remember once I was on the island and there was someone who gave out their whole street address, I assume they were very young, but it's just scary, that knowledge being in the hands of the wrong person could turn out bad. I do think young people playing games online really need better supervision, but there's also really no need for some of the stuff that happens, at least not when there's (possibly) children around.
