Why am I not allowed inside an amiibo rv?

Sorry if this is dumb, but I can't figure out why this is happening. Today I scanned Mable's amiibo with my mayor and ordered some stuff, no problem. Then, I loaded another character to order the rest of the furniture, but I could not enter: it just said "I guess it's locked", keep in mind I could enter to Wendell's RV which was parked next to Mable just fine. I tried with a third character, changed the time and even brought over a character from another cartridge and none of it worked. I could only go in with my mayor. This is weird, especially since I scanned Isabelle earlier in the day with my other copy of the game and invited a bunch of people to order stuff from her and I had no problem. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thank you for reading!

You need to get the amiibo figurine not the cards unfortunately :c

I find this a bit confusing as well. Yesterday I scanned in Celeste with my mayor and everything was fine. But when I let my friend come over while I was on a side character, it was locked for the both of us. I thought that meant that you can only use the amiibo RV when you're playing on the character that summoned the RV. But today, I scanned in Lottie and ordered three items with my mayor, and then another with a secondary character. It wasn't locked today.

You need to get the amiibo figurine not the cards unfortunately :c

it was the figurine, the RV is parked right there, I went in just fine with my mayor, the problem is I can't get in with any other character.

yeah it's the figurines..not cards. They programmed it so you have to spend more $. Afterall, this is what it is truly about.

I would if I hadn't already ordered the 3 items allowed per character. At this point all I want is to know why this is happening, since it seems too arbitrary to be a regular game mechanic.

I thought so at first, but my mayor could enter the rv just fine at any time. The rest could not, even when I changed the clock back several hours.

After summoning the amiibo with my mayor, the side character the RV was locked on was made before the side character it opened with, and at that point, I don't think I had unlocked the secret storage/hhd furniture mechanics, or wisp with of my secondary characters. So I still want to know why it worked with one of them but not the other.

Do all of your side characters have the new welcome amiibo features learned/wisp found?

I also thought it was bc I hadn't unlocked wisp with that character, but I invited another character from another copy that has wisp's lamp and I still couldn't enter the rv.

No, that character hadn't unlocked him yet. So if the gates are opened by a character who hasn't unlocked wisp yet, no one will be able to open the RV. But if your gates are closed, then it doesn't matter if they've unlocked wisp or not?

I wasn't able to enter the rv while using a wispless character with the gates closed, so I don't even know anymore. This is super confusing.

Or maybe it was because your character was about to get him anyways....

That is the only thing that makes sense.

I don't think that's how it works. We've already established that you can order from several characters as long as everyone involved has unlocked wisp.
