kinda difficult to choose one of each, but I guess I'll stick with basically what my New Leaf dream villagers were, more or less.

I was partial to my villagers of NL as well

you're the second person i've seen mention papi and i'm glad he has some fans!! i always love the villagers that are actually a different animal than their model, like papi being an okapi. and freya is adorable!

Normal - Mitzi! Her facial expressions are absolutely ridiculous, I LOVE it.

Jock - Teddy, easily. Probably the only jock I like besides Samson. He was a random move in on GC and ever since I first met him, I fell in love with him <3. Then I remember being totally heartbroken when he moved to my other memory card :')

Peppy - It's hard to say, since I never really liked the peppy villagers much until NH (they seem more interesting this time around). Puddles has such a cute face and funny expressions, but I got Sprinkle as a random move in in NH, and she's grown on me SO much. The way her voice sounds when she says "frappe" cracks me up every time.

Lazy - Bones is my baby. I treated him as if he were my actual dog back in Wild World lol. Nate is also SO precious. The celery unibrow and his dopey face ahhh <3

Smug - I'd have to go with Hans. Gorillas are criminally underrated and all the smugs rubbed me the wrong way except him. Plus he's so dashing in his plaid sweater.

Uchi - Tammy! I love her coloring, she's such a cute fun little cub. Out of all the uchis I had, I really clicked with her. Agnes is also really pretty and underrated. I love the darker colored villagers and she has the prettiest shade of black. She really stands out.

Snooty - Kitty & Olivia! They both look so classy. I love Olivia's coloring with the splashes of maroon, and Kitty's eyeshadow is always on point. I'd love to have them in a town together.

Cranky - R O L F. Without question. Though there a million crankies I adore, there's something about Rolf that really got me. I love white bengal tigers, they're so unique and beautiful. With tigers being on the endangered species list, they're found less & less in the wild, the white ones especially, so seeing him as the one and only one of his kind in Animal Crossing adds a special level of attachment for me. Plus he looks so fluffy (his head is H U G E) and has the funniest face with his pink tongue hanging out of his mouth all the time lol. He's just so fun and a really special addition to any town.

Honorable mentions, since crankies are my favorite and there's too many I love: Butch, Wolfgang, Buzz, Gaston, Vladimir, and Spike <3

i didn't really care much for rolf before this but now you've made me see what's cute about him!! and i love olivia's coloring too, i feel like she's so underrated as is mitzi. also i love puddles, she was my first peppy in NH and i kept her up until a couple days ago but i felt sad letting her go!

it's so hard to decide

bill and poncho are so cute omg, there's honestly something that's just adorable to me about having a tiny little bear cub or duck always talking about their muscles and how big and strong they are!! poncho has been in my space-themed NL town for years just because his dark coloring made him seem like the best fit out of all the jocks. i really like wolf link too and i miss all the crossover amiibo villagers! i hope they'll be added back at some point.

chevre is so cute!! i don't care much for most of the goats but her coloring and her little freckles are adorable.

This might be a good exercise to do since I don't even know where to begin on who I want for my island. I think I'd just be content having Pietro and some generally nice villagers.

That said...

Normal- Vesta... she looks so distinct with her tiny glowy eyes. I have to give a honorary mention to Marcie though. She was one of my first animals in my first game and I never was able to let her go.

Peppy- I think I have a soft spot for Bella. Not the best looking villager but I somehow ended up liking her a ton in Happy Home Designer of all games! She has such punk vibes!

Uchi- Tammy! Such vibrant colours. I also loved her default outfit in New Leaf. Somehow it added to her personality.

Snooty- Bree. Mouse villagers are cute and green hair in general is cool. Two awesome things packed in to one character.

Cranky- Walt. Male kangaroos are rare and he just looks like a cranky old man.

Jock- Antonio or Kevin. Bam is also really nice. I genuinely can't pick. They all have their own perks. Jocks are very hit or miss for me outside of these three.

Lazy- Marcel, definitely. This list has already helped me out. I might have to add him to my dreamies list. Can't resist having a mime to go along with Pietro. Speaking of...

Smug- Pietro. Hands down. Can't wait until I somehow get him on my island. I had him in New Leaf and I already miss him. I guess I'll give a honorary mention to Klaus and Hans.

I hope everyone on here ends up getting all the villagers they want, eventually!​

i didn't like vesta at first because i thought her eyes were weird but over time she actually really grew on me because i love the sheep!! it's also great to see more love of pietro, he may be kinda silly looking but i can't help but adore his rainbow wool. if i had his amiibo card i'd help you get him!!

Normal - Alice and Sally! I'd say Sally is my favourite but Alice really grew on me after Sally moved away...

Peppy - Bella, Bianca, and Flora. Bella and Bianca were in my New Leaf towns and Flora is currently chilling on my island

Jock - Kody and Teddy! Kody really grew on me as one of my originals in New Leaf and I really miss having Teddy in my town

Cranky - Butch, Vladimir, and Lobo. Vladimir was an original that grew on me, and Butch and Lobo were cool villagers too

Snooty - Diana! Diana was always one of my favourite villagers

Uchi - Cherry! She was my first random move in New Leaf and I'm so glad I got her!

Smug - Julian and Kyle. Julian was an awesome villager and I've only had Kyle in pocket camp but I think his appearance is cool
