Who's going to appear first? Leif or Redd?

So , after I downloaded the update everything went ok , however , while I was about to give some fossils to Blathers , he mentioned that a new section of the museum would open up to receive art and such.

The issue here is : If I remember correctly , right after that dialogue with Blathers , the next day Redd will be in the Resident Services plaza to sell you something. However , tomorrow Leif is supposed to be there.

So my question here is : Who's gonna appear first? Will Leif appear on the 23th and Redd on the 24th? Is Redd going to walk around the town? What's going to happen?

I could be wrong and I’m sure plenty people know if this is true or not, but I’m assuming Redd only shows up on the beach. It doesn’t seem like he’s too welcome in the plaza, from what I gathered.

I think Leif shows up first and than Redd the next day

From what I gather, Redd is his own "visitors" category.
You can only have one day category visitor (Kicks, Sahara, Flick, etc) but can also have a 'night visitor' that same day (Wisp, Celeste)
I think Redd is his own 'beach' category and can show up regardless of who else is in town that day

I've had Leif in the Plaza this morning, and Blathers mentioned art for the first time this morning, no Redd yet though.

I downloaded the update last night and turned on my game briefly to make sure everything still worked. I talked to Blathers and he mentioned getting the update to the museum. This morning, both Redd and Leif are here at the same time, so they CAN both come on the same day, but if you just spoke to Blathers today about the museum upgrade, then Redd probably won't come until tomorrow.

I had Leif and Redd both in the plaza this morning since I already updated and talked to Blathers last night. Isabelle’s vague warning about Redd in the morning announcements made me laugh too

Redd shows up the day after you speak to Blathers. I spoke to him shortly after the update (on the 22nd) so both Redd and Leif showed up for me today as a result!
