I plan on getting one right on launch. Was wondering who else...

I personally would get it on Launch Day but, I'm waiting until later this year due to financial reasons.

I have saved money and vouchers since my 21st Birthday last year to get the Nintendo 3DS on Launch Day (March 25th)
I have also saved for GAMECare Insurance and one Nintendo 3DS game. :D
I will probably have to wait until later this year to get a Flip and Play case.
But other than that, I am ready for next Friday!

1 WEEK TO GO! Woot!

I won't be. I bought a DS a month after it came out... I feel like it wasn't worth it at all - I could've waited a year to get a great deal or 2 years to get a better version of the DS at the same price... no point in buying right away.

I'm in for one, as well as SSFIV and Rayman 3DS. Gonna be weird buying a Nintendo console with no actual first party titles (played Pilotwings at Best Buy, game sucks).

Are those 2 the best launch titles? Maybe I should get Street Fighter.

Seems like Rayman 3DS is a really competent port of the Dreamcast version of The Great Escape with only a few framedrops here and there. I've never played the original, so I'll probably enjoy it more than somebody who's already familiar with the game.

As for Street Fighter, seems like it's a very well-done port, aside from the static backgrounds. Not a big deal when you consider how great it looks and plays, as well as the fact that it has an online system that rivals the 360 version's (and free to boot!).

I think SFIV is the one truly 'must-have' 3DS launch title, but that's just me...

No, I'm poor right now, but once I start work this June, I'll get one. The launch games look sucky anyway.

I've already got it pre-ordered.

I might get Street Fighter or the Samurai Warriors game.

I got it preordered and am already planning on picking it up on the release date. Ironically, it's the day I'm leaving for DC. I'll be able to pick it up not long before we leave, haha. Shame the launch titles suck, but I've had my mind set on Street Fighter. I'm sure that and the built in stuff will last me awhile!

Yup, I'll be getting one on launch with Steel Diver probably. It's a slow paced game and a lot of people are trashing it just because of that, I still think it looks like fun. Street Fighter looks tempting just because it's all around a good game and it has good online, but I'm just not into Steet Fighter/Smash Bros. type games. I have been considering Pilotwings, with that Best Buy demo I've heard some mixed opinions of it. Bul, why exactly would you call it trash?

Oh and I suggest people buy this battery extender from Nyko. It should add a few hours and it doesn't seem too fat. And it's only $19.99

Pre-ordered one. I'm probably gonna wait for Ocarina of Time/Starf Fox/etc. before I actually buy any games.

Speaking strictly about the 3D effect, I found that it was very difficult to focus on. Your Mii/plane is very close to the screen while there is a fair amount of depth in the background. Unless you unnaturally relax your eyes, it's very hard to focus on both at the same time. 3D can only be effective if the user can forget about it, i.e., you shouldn't have to think about it.

Gameplay-wise, I wasn't thrilled either. Even though I like slow-paced games, the fact that there's a time-limit for each of the missions (and even in Free Flight Mode!!) totally ruins it. Why would you call it "free flight" and time it at 2 minutes? I know you can extend it if you run into white clouds, but I think it's still a pretty stupid idea.

Street Fighter, on the other hand, is a really beefy experience and apparently uses the 3D extremely well. Rayman 3D I'm getting only because I never played the game it was based on.
