Who here has (or continues) to collect or build with LEGOs? I'm 18 and even though I've been done with toy collecting since I was 16, I still like to build them with my sisters (aged 5 and 7) out of a big tub that contains most of the LEGO bricks I've ever had. I'm currently making a replica of the M90 series Mechon from Xenoblade Chronicles, the only thing that I still need to build on it is some front legs and a way to connect the back legs to it's body.
Anyways, I used to get them all the time when I was 9 and the first series I ever started collecting was BIONICLE when the 2007 sets were first released; and I continued to collect them even after the original series was discontinued in 2010. Even now I still have all of them packed up in boxes in my closet. In addition to collecting BIONICLE, I've also collected some of the Mars Mission and Atlantis series sets... both of which now make up the bulk of LEGO bricks that I gave my sisters. I'd give my BIONICLEs to my sisters as well, but the parts on them break way too easily compared to the normal bricks. :L
A few years ago when my mom was with her last boyfriend he had a kid who was 8 or so and so she bought this giant tub of legos from her friend, now I am talking one of those huge plastic buckets you can sit in, it was years and years of accumulation from when her kids were young, I was charged with sifting through it to make sure nothing bad was in it, because there were random things like thumbtacks and stuff in there. Among the legos were many things from my childhood, lots of random Pogs and little toys from the quarter machines like the little men with parachutes and stuff, it was really amazing and I totally stole all the cool other toys out of the bucket for myself. After we got it all sorted I was the one who would play with them most of the time, the boy only wanted to play with them when I was playing with them, I wish I could have taken them when we moved because I used to build things for every holiday and stuff, for instance here is a bunny I made for easter, I think I also made several easter eggs, and then for halloween one year I made a really neat witch!
Lego was a big part of my childhood and I couldn't get enough of it. My brother and I would used to sit and play with it for hours. I don't play with it anymore though.
I used to collect lego, I have a huge bucket that I still somewhere full of random objects. Haven't touched it since I was like seven, so I think it's a spider nest now or something.
I collect LEGOS, still. I have a huge tub of them! I'm considering selling them. Apparently, I could get like, 5 bucks per pound. I guess that makes me rich. BTW, if you're looking to sell/buy LEGOS, Craigslist is always a great option.
I used to. I saw a video of a person doing them with Nintendo characters, I had to imitate that. When I got some on my birthday, it wasn't legos, it was mega blocks. I told my sister that was the wrong gift. They told me they couldn't find legos. Someday I got them, I then didn't want them because it was too hard to try on what to build. Then, my brother and niece made the American Flag out of them. I still have the photo on the fridge to this day.
Would I ever want them again? Most definitely not.
omg NOSTALGIA
I used to BEG my parents when we went to Target to buy me Lego City stuff (and they usually did just so I would shut up)
I remember for my 6th birthday they got mr the airport. best day ever imo. I still have all the pieces too
Um. I collect them now, sort of. Ever since my son came along, there are a lot of Duplo sets we've been collecting? And even though he's a bit young for it, like the "big boy" lego sets that involve construction vehicles or snow plows or whatever, we always seem to get those. I love Lego's.
legos weren't a part of my childhood, but honestly, i've been spending a concerning amount of time with them ever since my younger siblings bought a set
They were without a doubt my favorite thing to play with, but I didn't have many because my parents thought they were too expensive and wouldn't buy them ever. My boyfriend was the same. So we decided that our child is going to have many legos and we will play with them as well. He's 1 now, so just a few more years yet. (Excited, yes) We're so pathetic... lol
