Who is the best Alligator villager and why? 🐊

I'm very partial to Del, myself, because I don't think it gets much cooler than "pirate robot alligator". Gayle's sweet lolita dress in New Horizons has really won me over to her too, though. Something about having such an over-the-top cute/pink aesthetic on an alligator, of all species, is really charming to me.

Most people say Del is modeled after a cruise ship but I always assumed he was modeled after an airplane cause the whole Del/Delta name thing

I love Gayle's look for those pretty eyes and the little heart on the top of her snout. She's a cute little thing... wouldn't ever have her on my island, however, as I'm not a fan of the alligators.

i looooooooove alligators in real life, i think anyone who knows me can vouch for this lol. so i don't really hate any of the alligator villagers, they're all cute! i love how chubby they are.

my all-time favourite is boots, he's just a classic alligator and i love him. i also really love roswell and gayle.

i really, really want to like drago more but i wish his pink lips weren't so fluorescent, the contrast between them and his green skin is way too high, they throw me off.

Drago, hands down for me!

Drago reminds me so much of an Asian dragon and I was thrilled the first time I met him on the campground that I did everything in my power to be able to recruit him. In every game of Animal Crossing that I have played, I always try to recruit Drago into my villager list and will only let him leave to go elsewhere once I have secured his photo as my gift.

Drago is my boy, my favourite of all favourites. I can't express how wonderful it was to encounter Drago in New Leaf and continue my friendship with him into New Horizons. There are many reasons why I love Drago. Number 1: he is a dragon. Numbers 2-100: he is a dragon. Yes, its that simple. I love dragons and so of course I love Drago. I first encountered him in New Leaf as my first lazy. I was like...a dragon! I didn't know they had dragons in Animal Crossing! Little did I know that later he was technically an "alligator". Well...Ribbot is technically a "frog" but we all know that he isn't! I later built a mythical town around Drago, Phoebe and Julian as my core villagers. In New Horizons, I finally got Drago after island hopping many times, but that was my previous island that went into Switch limbo. I never got his photo...but I will this time! Now with my history of Drago out of the way, I will get into what makes Drago even more special as a villager. He is a lazy and he loves Chinese food. Of course, because he is a dragon, right? Yes, but even more curiously, his birthday is February 12. That is around the time most lunar new years happen. Strange, right? Also his photo saying: "There is no room for two dragons in one pond." Dragons again. Drago is a dragon and that's what makes him so special!

WORST: None, but if I had to choose it would be Gayle. I feel she is pink for the sake of being pink.

I don't absolutely hate any of the alligator villagers, but, maybe, the one that gets my attention the least may be Sly. Sometimes, I even forget he exists...

I am not really into the Alligators but if I had to pick I like Gayle.

I think all of the alligators are charming in their own way. Alfonso is the alligator that sticks out the most in my brain, I feel like he is the alligator representative of the species in AC. Drago is pretty cool and has a great design. Boots.. Boots is very cute. She has he classic green color going on. Del is a little weird, I don't really get his design. Gayle though is lovely, love Gayle. She is a cute villager for sure, I feel like her and Merengue would go well together. I like Sly's eyes a lot.

I like that most of the alligators have a thoughtful and creative design! My favourite would be Gayle, because I love pink and the heart on her snoot is adorable. I also really like Drago because of his dragon features! His colours are a bit too much for me though. I've never really had a Croc villager long term but was seriously considering Gayle. I might give her a go!

Drago, technically, but it feels a bit unfair to the gators since he's supposed to be a dragon. Ignoring his lovely self, I... feel pretty much the same about every one of them. There's nothing that makes me intensely dislike any of them, but there's also nothing that really makes me go, "Omg! Amazing design!" I like how Sly's eyes pop out and that his coloring is supposed to be camouflage, so I guess I'll pick him.

Boots! Boots is awesome! I've had Boots in other towns and he lives on my island now. Boots is just awesome. Friendly, amped up, super excited about gifts...excellent neighbor.

I'm going to have to go with Sly, but Gayle is too adorable to not have as a close second. There's just something about a camouflaged alligator that's hard to resist.

All the alligators are great! Sly's my favorite. He was in my first ever town and he stayed there the entire time I had it even though I time traveled a lot. He's also in my current new leaf town now. I like his vertical eyes too. I don't have a least favorite.

My favorite alligator villager is Gayle! Honorable mention to Boots. Honestly, unlike some of the other species, there aren't really any alligators that I truly dislike.

Here are my thoughts on each of the alligator villagers:

Alfonso: I like the circle pattern he has. His coloring isn't my favorite, but I feel like it makes sense for a reptile.

Alli: I like her blue skin and her very reptilian eyes.

Boots: He's a classic green alligator with some lighter green spots.

Del: We share a birthday, so he gets bonus points for that. The fact that he seems to be based on a battleship is interesting.

Drago: It's the Year of the Dragon, so I think he gets bonus points too. It's cool that there's a dragon villager, even if he isn't one of my favorites.

Gayle: I love the multiple shades of pink and the heart on her snout. She looks so lovely. Her blue eyes look nice with all the pink as well.

Roswell: He has a cool pattern.

Sly: I'm not a big fan of camouflage patterns, but I like his eyes.

I never realized how few alligator villagers there actually were until I looked at this poll omg. He's not on the poll but I think I'd go with Roswell? I really love his pattern and the brown and beige/cream colours go very well together imo. His eyes are also pretty cute to me! I don't think I'd want him asa dreamie or anything, but his design is solid and if I ever stumbled upon him in the next game, I wouldn't be mad about it.

I think I would pick Del for my least favourite alligator villager. I've never been a fan of the robotic villagers and Del takes it a step further by being a battleship or something. The windows along his face look too unnatural to me and they kind of just look like strange holes in his face which is kind of freaky imo.

Drago and Gayle definitely hands down! I love how Drago looks like a dragon and I really love dragons. Gayle because you know, pink! Love the color pink.

*slams fists on desk* ALFONSO AND ROSWELL~!!!!

Alfonso has been my ultimate lazy love since New Leaf. He is still in my town. He just looks sooooo cuteeee. I can imagine holding him in my arms as he dozes off.
Roswell, I just loved how an old villager was allowed to reuturn and with all his glory. He did used to be Lazy, which in a sense I wish he still was. But I am just so happy to have him. I also love his design.

One day, I'l draw a lil sketch of me holding them as they doze off in my arms~ that would be so cute.

I really love and want to try Alli.
I watched a show called Animalia as a kid, and there's a similar snarky, snooty Alligator with the same colours as Alli.

Sly looks tooo creepy for me ;_; I think the only other Alligators I would like to try would be Drago and Gayle.

Gayle and Drago are the best alligator villagers! Gayle because her color scheme is cute and I love her heart snout it’s adorable. I also like her house interior in both new leaf since she had the lovely series furniture and new horizons for the cute series; they both match her aesthetic perfectly! I like Drago because he’s a dragon obviously , it makes him stand out amongst all the other alligators.
