Yes it looked an awful lot more realistic, to me at least. These ones look quite cartoony to me, not sure if that's the look they were going for.
The whole thing just looked so much brighter

I definitely prefer the beta trees. I really wouldn't have minded an animal crossing overhaul, it just looked so realistic and more real y'know like how an actual world would look.

Omg yes I made a thread about this ages ago too because I think that's part of what made it look so exciting and new
Especially have you seen the beta cedar trees in the winter picture, it looks more wintery and foresty due to their tallness and makes the town feel more interesting because it's a bit more like you're closer up to the ground instead of having more of a birds eye view so you feel more involved

Maybe they'll make it like that with the NX
I read on a website somewhere the producer of AC didn't want to make too many changes because then players love to connect with the roots of Ac from past games, so maybe they're saving the trees now that we've gotten used to taller characters

Can you imagine if the newer game had even more detail to it such as if the soil was a lot more realistic, if it was a bit more rough and there were little stones and digging your shovel into that produced a real digging in the soil sound

Anyway I'm getting ahead of myself here lol I'm so excited for the first bit of news we get about AC NX
