Normal: Coco
I have to give this one to Coco because her design stands out the most among the Normal villagers. I like that her design shares its inspiration with the gyroids in being based on the Japanese Haniwa funerary figures. I have her living in one of my towns as well. Her house looks pretty nice as well, and makes me think of a movie I like, so overall she just has a lot going for her.
Second place would have to go to Marina for being the only female Octopus villager. My other favorite Normal villagers are Annalisa, Celia, Maple, Melba, and Savannah.
Peppy: Flora
This one is very tough because Sprinkle is a very close second, but I gave the nod to Flora because she is the only villager that resembles a flamingo. That uniqueness wins out, as my favorite villagers all have something about them that makes them stand out from the crowd and I generally prefer that in my villager tastes.
Sprinkle, obviously, would be my second favorite Peppy. My other favorite Peppy villagers are Agent S, Anabelle, Bella, Cheri, Ruby, Tammi, and Victoria.
Snooty: Tiffany
This is another tough one because Snooty is my favorite female villager personality type. I really struggled deciding between Ankha and Tiffany because I love Ankha's Ancient Egyptian inspiration, she's one of my favorite overall villagers, and she's an important part of contributing to the atmosphere of my horror-themed town alongside Lucky. All that considered, I gave this spot to Tiffany because I like her design and I view her as the assistant to my mayor in my circus/magic show-themed town due to the magic trick of pulling a rabbit out of a hat. She wins Ankha simply down to the matter of having an important "role" in the town she's in.
Ankha is the obvious second place. Other favorite Snooty villagers of mine are Blanche, Elise, Freya, Julia, Monique, Olivia, and Pecan.
Uchi: Phoebe
A somewhat tough choice, but Phoebe would have to be my favorite Uchi villager. I'm a big fan of birds, both in the game and in real life, and have an all-bird town with representatives of all the different bird species available in New Leaf. I have Phoebe as a resident due to her unique phoenix-inspired design.
Second place in terms of Uchi villager would have to go to Pashmina. My other favorite Uchi villagers are Agnes, Deirdre, Diva, Flo, Muffy, and Rocket.
Cranky: Hopper
Very tough choice here, but I have to give it to Hopper for a few reasons. Primarily, penguins are my favorite animal and Hopper just looks cool. He was one of the original villagers in my first Animal Crossing town back on the GameCube before I regrettably reset that town. I've always been fond of his design since first seeing it, and thankfully a few years back I managed to reacquire him in New Leaf and he has been a resident of my all-bird town ever since.
Second place has to go to Octavian because I have fond memories of acquiring him after visiting my friend's town back on the GameCube game and, while he didn't remain in my town for a very long time, I always thought he was cool. He's been residing in my hororr-themed New Leaf town for years now.
My other favorite Cranky villagers are Boris, Butch, Buzz, Camofrog, Del, Gruff, Knox, Lobo, and Rasher. There are a few more too, but yeah. You can probably tell that I like the Cranky personality a lot.
Jock: Ribbot
There are some good ones, but if I have to pick one then I have to give the vote to Ribbot. I love Ribbot and Sprocket and want more robot villagers to be added in the future.
Mott ekes out the second place spot because I regretted letting him leave one town for over a year before reacquiring him and making him one of the stars of my circus/magic show-themed town. Other favorite Jock villagers include Boone, Bud, Cobb, Louie, Roald, Sprocket, and Sterling.
Lazy: Lucky
While I let Ankha lose to Tiffany earlier in the battle of the Snooties, I have to give this one to Lucky. I am really fond of the mummy design, and as stated in the Snooty section, he's a resident of my horror-themed town alongside Ankha. Just a really strong, unique design.
My second favorite Lazy would have to be Drago. He might look a bit goofy, but he's a dragon. That's just too cool. My other favorite Lazy villagers are Boomer, Cranston, Cube, Marcel, Stitches, and Tucker.
Smug: Pietro
This one was the toughest because there are a ton of Smug villagers that I like and it's my favorite of the male villager personalities. I gave the first place spot to Pietro because I like the colorful design he has and because I have him as my next door neighbor in my horror-themed town since a considerable amount of people seem to have clown phobias and I figured he'd make for a good resident.
My second favorite would probably have to be Jacques because of my previously stated affection for birds and because, compared to my other favorites, he both stands out well and doesn't really have an aspect to his design that lets me down. My other favorite Smug villagers are Eugene, Hans, Julian, Leopold, Lionel, Lucha, Shep, and Tex. There are a few others I like as well, but you get the point.
