Hi! This is probably a dumb question, but does that mean we could invite her to live on our island (sorry, still sorta new to AC...)?

If she's at your campsite, I believe only the host of the island can invite her to their island. No one else can come to the campsite and ask her to move to their island. You would have to invite her to your island so she moves in, and then TT till she asks to move out from your island in order to give her away to someone, if that's what you mean.
