If you're not happy with how your town looks, start it over. Either by resetting your town, or just chop it all down and start from square one.
It's your town and there are so many ways you can play around with it.
Experiment!! Be happy of what you have achieved so far, because it's 100% more amazing than when you first arrived on the train!

I've restarted a couple times now.... maybe what i should do is when i get all the villagers i want i just only barley TT?

also maybe you could just try having a town where you just play until a villager gives you their picture and then let them leave? like you don't have dreamies, just villagers that you end up liking or have liked since you first met them? i got this idea from jvgs.net, thinking of doing it soon. i already have whitney so this is just general advice

To prevent mine from leaving I talk to a villager every days until they mention someone moving, and then I go stop them from moving, but sometimes it fails, and they go (kid cat 
) But you just have to deal with it as hard as it is. I know the feels when a dreamie leaves

If you need to time travel, then make sure you do it safely. Don't travel more than 2 days at a time. Once you have travelled 2 days, there will mostly always be a villager who is moving. So you search for that villager and stop them moving. Then you go forward 2 days and so on.

I don't so call have dreamies, but i can't loose the ones i love, and thats whats been happening to me. Whitney is the 4 victim..

do you think it would be smart for me to restart and do this?
It's up to you if you want to lose the remaining 6 dreamies or start over.
Starting can be overwhelming and it takes a lot of time to build back up to where you are now, trust me.

I usually reset often, but I'll try not to anymore. It feels nice to start off new, as you get a new map, new villagers, etc. It also has downsides like being empty of items and bells, loss of dreamies, under development, but If I were you I'd get someone to hold your items and villagers while you look for a good map c:
Thank you both for your help. I think i might just want to start over, but be a little smarter this time. If one of you guys are willing to hold onto my stuff, Then I will give you Whitney!
