I've got Whitney moving out of my cycling town so I figured I'd do a contest to give her away. The winner will be chosen at 11pm EST on April 28th.

To enter the contest you can do any of the following:

-Draw my mayor. Here is a few pictures of my mayor, along with a couple pictures of the pattern my shirt is based off of)

-Draw any of my three favorite villagers (Snake, Fang, or Whitney)

-Write a short origin story or a poem about Whitney

Multiple entries are accepted.

If you aren't available to pick Whitney up when the contest ends, just let me know. I'll be glad to hold her for you!

Thanks everyone for your entries! They were all really great and I enjoyed every one of them! The winner is Shadow Star!

Does the drawing have to be good? ;w;

I judge pictures by a lot of things. I'm not too terribly great at drawing and I understand not everyone is either. If you draw something that makes me laugh it's just as good as a really high quality picture in my mind. :)

Okay and how long does the story have to be, and does it have to be expertly crafted?

Okay and how long does the story have to be, and does it have to be expertly crafted?

I don't really have a particular length requirement for the story. I did a giveaway for Lucky a while back and had a few stories, some were just a few sentences and a couple were a few paragraphs and they were all really great. I try to leave it as open as possible for people. As for quality, I just look for inventiveness in the story (and of course pretty decent grammar).

Okay so once I was walking around my town and I felt it... There were eyes on me. I looked around... Left... Right... But no one could be seen, so I went on watering my white and red roses in hopes that one day... one day I would be blessed with pink. I had yet to see any of my villagers that day, and that morning Isabelle had told me someone new had moved in so I just assumed... They were all having their weird welcoming parties...

Anyway, so while I was walking around with my can, I heard a little snap. I looked up once more, my heart racing this time. Was it a ghost? I thought to myself, frightened. Then I realised... No... Ghosts can't step on limps... Then it must be a faerie! Then I just shook my heads, because the fae were to small to even lift a stick, let alone snap one.

So I called out "Who is there?"

No answer.

"Come out!"

Silence.

Inching away from my precious flowers, I considered running home to get my Katana...

Then...

I heard it!

"snappy"

Your story is great! I love to see people entering on other people's behalf! :)

I'd love to enter! :3 Since my artistic skills are equivalent to those of a pile of poop, I'll be writing c: I'm using an iPad right now so sorry if grammar is inexcusable. I am unable to collect Whitney at the end time :c

"Tired yet?" The beautiful, female wolf asked, in a slightly sarcastic manner. I looked away from my almost done garden and focused on the unknown visitor.
"How did you guess?" I replied with a polite smile, rubbing the mud off of my face. She smiled back and opened her fashion magazine, laying gracefully on the deck chair. A silence grew much like the roses I lay down, and lasted a good half hour. Despite all my hard work, the garden failed to finish.
"So you're mayor Avalon, correct?" The wolf asked. I nodded, and made a small sound.
"So, m'am, may I ask why you're visiting Sugarpea today?" I mumbled.
She sat up a little bit, engaged in the conversation it seemed. "The name is Whitney," she said. "And I'm here to visit my cousin, Skye, and my distant friend, shep."
"Nice to meet you, Whitney. I had a small thought that you and Skye were somehow related." I exclaimed in excitement that such a polite, beautiful creature was staying in my town.
She sure had a lot to do here, and she knew a lot of my friends.
"So, Whitney, have you ever thought about moving here?" I asked quite awkwardly "I love seeing new faces, and I'd love to have you here."
In alarm, she looked around again. It was surprise, shock at my invitation.
"I'd love to move here." She said. "I have to go now, but I'll be seeing you here in a few days, hm?"
"Great!" I exclaimed.
Whitney stood up, and from her suitcase retrieved a pink rose. She placed it in the empty spot, and my garden was complete. She walked slowly to the train station and waved.
I knew Whitney would be a great friend, and she knew I'd be one too.

I would love to have Whitney! To enter the contest, I drew Fang, Snake and Whitney. Hope you like it :) Also, I wouldn't be able to pick up Whitney at the end of the contest since it would be 5 am where I live!

Edit: I don't know why the image is upside down. Sorry for that. I also don't know why there are three of them, since I only inserted one...

Since I'm not the best at art and actually prefer to write stories, I'll write a little story instead. However, it is only classified as short in my eyes... I guess it's rather long. Sorry about that. I hope you don't mind reading too much. Also for reference:
Italics is the past.
Bold is the present.
Normal was just for emphasis on those two words at the end.

Again, sorry about how long it is. I usually go overboard on these sorts of things as I typically write stories anyway. You can disregard this if you think it's too long.

Whitney didn't know why she decided to visit this small town. It was barely beginning compared to the bustling city she lived in. Many of her friends had said in the past this place never had much to offer until one day Fang sent her a letter. He said the town had new spirits and high hopes once more. He said it would grow into something beautiful like the getaway places he saw in the travel books he sent her. She knew to take Fang seriously; he was typically grouchy about the town and had claimed in the letter before he would move soon. So why did he want to stay now? She came to investigate.

The town hadn't changed much, if at all. Re-tail still had only poor little Reese working with Cyrus sleeping away. There weren't many villagers, only 7. Main street was nothing big as well, only having a shoe and garden shop open. She did take note of Lloid sitting around with a rope barrier around him. When she asked him why he was there, he claimed that the mayor requested to get a water well built. It was only when she met with with Fang at the cliff where a modern bench now sat did she find out why he was keen on staying.
"We have a new mayor." Fang spoke, joy and hope lacing his deep voice. The two wolves stared out to the sunset before them. "She's really the best this place could have. She came by chance, everyone was about to give up. She was reluctant at first, but she's really stepped up to the job." He mused to Whitney. She let a small smile grace her features as she hummed.
"As a person, not a mayor, what is she like?" Whitney asked, curious at the reply she would receive.
"She's lovely to be around; really brightens up your day. She gets on with all of us and does everything she can to make us happy. Everyone says that I'm the one she's closest with." A deep chuckle sounded from his throat.
"She sounds... nice." Whitney replied.
"Her passion resides in flowers." Fang told her. It was like a light bulb went off for Whitney as she finally realized why Fang wanted to stay. Now that she took a closer look; the land was clear of rubbish and instead trees of many fruits had grown and flowers of all types and colours flourished in the bright green grass.
"All of those... she grew them, didn't she?" Whitney asked. Fang nodded and got off the bench, helping the female wolf off.
"I'm sure we can find her. I bet I know where she is." Fang told her, grinning. Whitney resisted the urge to roll her eyes at the male before her as he lead her away.

So that's what lead her to this moment. She stood a little ways off in an area of purple roses, her favourite. Fang had wandered over to a human girl who wore clothes for gardening, brown glasses and a beret that sat neatly on her head. A watering can was in hand and her blue eyes sparkled in delight. The human girl happily followed Fang back over to Whitney and white wolf couldn't help but smile.
"Hello there! I'm Miku!" The girl introduced herself, sticking out a hand for the wolf to shake. Whitney smiled and shook her hand.
"Sorry if I'm interrupting your work. I mostly came by to visit Fang for the day. He sent me such a charming letter about your town, I had to come see what made him stay." Whitney replied, keeping her poise and air of perfection. First impressions meant everything. She took notice of the purple roses once more. This caught the young mayor's eye and the human bent down and plucked one off the grass, minding the thorns and holding it out to Whitney.
"You like purple roses, right? I do too. I love these roses the most." The young mayor chirped. Whitney took the flower, minding the thorns herself and tucked it behind her ear. The young mayor's smiled widened, "You look gorgeous! The rose really compliments your outfit." She complimented. Whitney looked between the human, the roses and her old friend.
"Say, you wouldn't have space for another villager, would you? Maybe some space at the back of the rose field here?" Whitney asked.
"Of course! I have plenty of space. If you come with me now, we can mark out your home and I'll make sure it's surrounded by purple roses by the time you move in!" The mayor said happily. Whitney smiled as the girl took Fang's paw in one hand and her own paw in the other, leading the two through the field.
"Welcome to our family, Whitney!" The young mayor shouted to the sky, making Fang release his deep chuckle once more and even made Whitney giggle.
"Thank you, Mayor... no, Miku." Whitney replied.

Whitney wasn't quite sure again as to what lead her to this town. But she had to admit, this place grew on her more and more each day. Granted, she normally wouldn't have glanced at this place twice. But, she got to watch it grow and become more popular. Villagers came and went, campers too. She watched Mayor Miku grow on her role even more and direct this town in the right way. But Whitney had picked up a habit from spending too much time with Miku. The small town of Konoha was not a town to her...
"Whatcha' thinking about Whit?" Miku's voice rang in the wolf's ears as the human sat beneath the apple tree next to Whitney's house that overlooked the field of purple roses. No, this town wasn't a town to her anymore, it was...
"Oh, you know," Whitney began, "Just thinking about
my family."

I open my eyes, the light shining in from the window captured the emptiness of the room. I had just moved to Bumbury, a dull gray town. Nothing ever happens here, I live here on my own. No one to wake up to, no one to hang out with. Just myself. The only thing I ever look forward to is work. It's a small store where we sell snow globes. I stare up at my dresser gazing at the small globe sitting on my desk, the sun shining off the glass, the white flakes sitting at the bottom, and girl wearing a flamboyant dress that goes all the way down to her ankles. I sigh, sadly I do not have work today so it's just me and my thoughts. I get up, my white dress falls down to my knees. I walk down the hallway to the kitchen, it's a large room with white walls and brown wood flooring that creaks like an old house when you step on it even though my house is fairly new. I make myself eggs and coffee, get dressed in a Rainbow Tank and dry denim pants and head down to the small bookstore. As I walk down the road I'm about to open wooden the door when I sense people are staring at me. I hate that feeling the feeling of being watched the feeling of being judged. I turn around to find an old couple looking at me the feeble old woman says, "It's nice to finally see some kids reading these days, all kids do these days is play their video games." I hate how she called me a "kid" I'm not a kid anymore! I have my own place and a job. I force a polite smile and walk into the store. It's smells amazing in the store, like a new book that has just been opened. As I walk in I see Torminter a very old man, the skin on his cheeks dangles off his face, and his small round glasses rested on his nose. "Hey Sydney!", he says with a smile! "Did ya hear the news?" He says excitingly. "No.", I say. "Your favorite author is heading downtown if you wanna meet him you better get on the train right now!", He says anxiously. "What!", I yell as I run out the door to the train station. The wind smacks my face as I run, my heart pumping, and my legs aching. I can't believe I'm about to meet my favorite author! My thoughts distract me and I slam into a tall woman knocking over all of her groceries. I yell sorry and keep running. Finally something good is finally happening! I see the train doors just about to close. I jump into the train! The cold metal slams against me making my side ache. I lay on the floor and say, "I made it". I get up and look around to find no one else on the long train. "How can that be, I know tons of people who love James Gillian as much as I do!" The train jerks to the right and I lose my balance I fall back and hit my head on the seat everything goes black. I open my eyes, the train doors are open. I walk out of the train the sun makes my eyes hurt. The sky is as blue as the ocean and the grass as green as a new leaf. I look around and see a big yellow dog with fluffy ears standing in front of the doors. Her hair is pulled back into a bun on top of her head and her hairbow is red with a small silver bell attached to the side. Along with a tall white wolf with sparkling blue eyes. The dog says cheerfully, "Hello Mayor we've been expecting you."
