To US players:

When you boot up your game, Pete will tell you about a letter from Nintendo you've received that thanks you for using Spot Pass; this letter contains the White Festive Tree! You also get 15 MEOW coupons included!!! That was the best part for me!!

I'll check on this in a bit but I'm pretty sure you do, that's always been the case in the past.
