Which version of the Harvest series furniture do you prefer?

New Horizons is so much better. The old Harvest Set was so difficult to make work. I will kind of miss the TV though, due to memories from Gamecube.

The NH set is so lovely, I love how it can be used year-round and isn't just some quirky souvenir kind of deal like the old set. I'd love if we could customise them into a Christmas set as well since the events are so close. That would be perfect.

For those that have never seen how the set use to look like:

I definitely love the updated look waaaaay more. I'm so happy they went with this direction with the set, it's much more versatile.
There’s definitely no contest, LOL. Thank the good Lord that they have a staff who be knowin’ what the community wants now. 😂😂😂💛

I haven't seen any new harvest furniture.

The frying pan was already there, and the cloth table doesn't look new, or that different.

If you mean plates?
We already had plates.

No food.. still.

I prefer the New Horizons version (at least, what we've seen of it - hopefully it's a full 10-12 piece set!) by far, the series was in desperate need of a makeover. The purple and pink always made me think of cheap/knockoff dollhouse furniture.

And I hadn't made the connection but @xara is right; it looks just like Calico Critters/Sylvanian Families furniture! 🥺 Adorable!

I saw a picture further up with some plates of food, I assume they're new!

Edit: Woops, I mean in the thread about the update, not this thread lol

The new set is a lot more versatile and can be a true autumn set. The old one, while nostalgic (I remember doing my downstairs room in ACGC up in this), was always tough to mix in. The only piece in NL that I used was the wall. The rest was put in storage for completionist purposes.

I just wish there is a dresser, low table, sofa or armchair of sorts. Most event sets are too outdoor-focused.
To be fair, all we know about it is from one screencap. But if there's a fireplace and table, that indicates a good chance that other pieces will be interior-focused.

i like them both, which i'm guessing is a minority opinion. i always had a harvest set room in NL and will probably replace a lot of my kitchen room furniture in NH with the new harvest set just because it has that cottage/homey/cosy vibe to it.

that being said, i've always quite liked the gimmicky style of the holiday AC sets and i'm praying to god they don't "modernify" the pave set when that comes around next year because i've always loved that set and it's my main room in one of my NL towns. versatility is fine but it becomes a problem when all your furniture sets in the game start to look similar or essentially the same. there isn't a great deal that sets apart the antique, ironwood and new harvest sets, really. the latter two especially if you customize the ironwood to be white/lighter.

I love the updated look they went with for NH way better. the colors just say "harvest" much more than the purpley one does. Honestly at first glance I would have never said that was a harvest set- but the new one clearly is. I love the patterning they chose. The little crock pot is adorable! I can't wait to use it for Thanksgiving but I'll probably keep a few of the pieces out for even longer. It reminds me of the old country style dinnerware my family had growing up!

There's the crock pot, table setting, the chairs, the table, the fireplace behind them and with a display on top. Could be more.

Its a different wood, design and the cloth is reminiscent to feathers with its design.

The new ones, for sure! I do hope there is some customisation to make the new set a little more vibrant like the old one, for players who want to go that route.

I did use the old harvest furniture in NL as well it was purple 😂💜 The new one is a much nicer design though and I will find a way of using it somehow.

How could I have used the old set in game and not noticed the turkey legs ? 🤪 I blame the small screen on the DS and my rubbish eyesight 😊

The new style does look vastly better, but I was slightly hoping for more colour variations of household items. Can't think of any purple sets in NH.

For some reason I never noticed that either. I just liked that it was purple. I do really like the look of the new set.

Sadly you are correct afaik 😢 Hopefully they will add new furniture eventually that can be customised. The princess set would look gorgeous in purple 💜

I would love the princess set in purple. It would be nice to customize all sets. Especially ones you craft like the mermaid set.

Most of the holiday furniture are customizable, so I would think this set would be too. Giving how its a wood and cloth set, which usually is the easiest to implement customization options to.

If it is, I'm sure there would be a purple-esque coloration.
