And does it ever get repetitive/do they start sounding way too alike? A lot of my dreamies are normal villagers and I've been wondering if having 4 of them in a town would be too much :D

I generally try to keep an even amount of personalities, often trying to have at least one of each. Although I do generally tend to have a lot of cranky and snooty villagers, with Normal being a close second.

My current town will have two snooty and two cranky villagers, if you notice my signature. Del and Wolfgang, as well as Whitney and Freya. I was originally not going to have Peck and skip out on a Jock villager and I would have had June, a normal villager, take his place making me have two normal villagers as well.

I also try to keep at least one of each in my town, but it also depends on which PWP's I'm currently looking for, with those which raise my status to get the perfect town rating being highest on my list first.
As a general rule, most basic decorations and utility public works projects, such as benches, lights and bridges, affect the town's status positively, but by a minor amount. Nature-related and -friendly projects, such as the wind turbine and flower clock, are best for raising the town's status quickly. Projects that could be considered harmful to the environment or otherwise a disturbance will generally affect the town's status negatively.

I have four normals, three lazies, and two smugs; it can get repetitive for sure.
The normals are pretty tolerable, enough though that is the type I have the most of! Kiki always gives me the same prompt about her shirt, and she is my only normal that does that for some reason. I think it has to do with her having a lower relationship level, but I am not entirely sure. The smugs are probably the most intolerable of the villagers I currently have. That long text about trains and them getting sad when I do not accept certain tasks gets to be a pain sometimes (it even makes me feel bad too).

I try to keep my personalities as even as possible. I prefer to have at least one of each personality. Ideally, I would also have 5 males and 5 females, doubling up on one male and one female personality.

Since I'm still moving villagers in and out randomly, I'm temporarily lacking an uchi and I have 3 crankies at the moment. But Chow is moving out soon, so hopefully I can even things up again after that.

The reason I like to keep it even is for the variety of dialog. With two villagers of the same personality, it hasn't felt too repetitive, but I don't think I'd like more than that long term.

It's also important to have all the personalities you need for PWP requests early on. So make sure you get everything you want from the personalities you don't intend to keep before you trade them out for dreamies.

As much as I love Normal villagers (mostly their designs), hoooooooo booooy.. they have some boring dialogue, lol. It's kinda why I limit myself to just one, sometimes two and it's pretty much always going to be Skye, my favourite (female) villager.

Ah right thank you guys for reminding me about the pwp's! I still have a bunch from the cranky and snooty villagers that I haven't gotten yet :o Which is a shame cause I love the zen pwp's

Also I agree that the normal villagers have what's probably the most (vanilla?) dialogue but man their designs are cute xD I wish some of them had just been uchi instead

Side note: Khaelis your signature is so cute :D I see you like wolves

Khaelis

I can agree it is a bit much at times, haha. One of the main reasons I do like them however is that they are so vanilla, per-say. For the most part, they seem happy and content to me; their appearance adds another plus.

Skye is quite a lovely villager as well!

Yeahhh. I really like wolf villagers. I'd honestly have a town full of them if it weren't for the fact all of them besides two of them are either Cranky or Snooty. I was really happy when they announced Welcome Amiibo and I found out Dobie would be returning, only for them to have turned him into a Cranky villager (he was originally a Lazy villager).

So that's why you have more cranky and snooty ones :o I didn't know that they did that with Dobie thats a shame, he would have made an interesting lazy villager

Happy and content is such a nice way to describe them :D I'm going to think of it that way if I someday end up with a whole bunch of them due to how cute they all are

Yup, he was originally a Lazy island villager in the GameCube Animal Crossing.

I have both Stitches and Filbert, and they live quite close together, so they can sound quite alike..

I also have three or four normal villagers since I'm looking for some of the PWP's they request. When I have unlocked those, I will likely swap one of them out for another type of villager to keep it more interesting :) It hasn't bothered me too much though!

Right now, I have two normals (Flurry and Sally) and two lazies (Lucky and Ozzie).
I also like too many villagers with the normal personality type, and I wish there were more "cute" uchis.

I have two peppy and two lazy villagers in my town currently! I try and have as much variety as possible in my personalities though, while still having animals I love.

I permanently have 3 lazies in my town. Zucker, Stitches, and Chester. I just can't help it they're all so cute! I can't choose between them so I decided to just have all 3. I don't really get tired of them. Lazies are the most adorable personality type imo. I have 1 of each personality type for the remainder of my town. I also really love crankies but that personality type is reserved only for my ultimate favorite Fang.

I have the most Jock personalities, I think they are really funny. Like most of you, I'd like to keep a balance but it's hard to choose sometimes.

I like to have 1 of each in my town, but I have 2 peppy (Dotty/Rosie) and 2 Lazy (Cranston/Stitches)

the rest all have their own personality

Oh boi, I have 3 peppies in Treehut, that's gonna get repetitive quickly. One of them I kinda don't talk to cause I want her to move out, and the other recently moved in.

Other then that, I do TRY to have some variety but I do find myself liking alot of the normals design, to the point that I wish there weren't so many normals in game. Luminosa is bound to have 3 or 4, due to its theme. Also, I'm going to end up having alot of crankies and lazies in Treehut. I already have Wolfgang and Roscoe, and I still need Octavian from the crankies. For lazy I need Rodeo, Filbert and Drago. I have the Filbert and Rodeo's cards, but I'm waiting to move them in so I can cycle for Drago.

In me town Kenma, jock! Since Teddy and Peck is jock.
Cranky: Kabuki and Butch
And it Town lazy, Snooty! Since Purrl and Portia is snooty.
oh wait and also jock, Stinky, Pierce and tybalt is jock

I usually try to avoid having more than one peppy and one jock per town since they are my least favorite personality types. Normals and lazies are my favorite types, but, even then, I try to have no more than 2 of each per town. Need that variety more than I need multiple normals/lazies.
