I’m kind of expecting to get flamed for saying this but I honestly truly think that F-Zero GX is a better racing game than any Mario Kart game Nintendo has come out with (and yes I have played Mario Kart 8).

Sadly, Nintendo has been neglecting the F-Zero franchise for a very long time. In fact, they have released five Mario Kart games since the last F-Zero game was released. And with this new anti-gravity mechanic in Mario Kart 8 it’s pretty obvious that they are trying to turn Mario Kart into a pseudo-F-Zero, while forgetting about the real one.

To be fair Mario Kart 8 did hugely boost the sales of the Wii U. But how much a Wii U bundle with a brand new F-Zero game would have boosted sales is an open question. Especially if they decided to put as much advertising dollars behind it and hype it up as much as they hyped up Mario Kart 8 (and include another free game with it), I think it would do very well.

Perhaps people are getting tired of all these Mario Kart games? Perhaps there still exists a significant number of F-Zero fans such as myself? Nintendo seems not to have considered these thoughts lately. Maybe they think having two franchises of racing games is redundant, so they felt like they had to pick one. Frankly I think Nintendo chose Mario Kart just because F-Zero is more mature and they think it won't appeal to children and their grandmothers as much, but maybe I’m just being cynical.

In any case, if they decided to make a new F-Zero game with online multiplayer, Gamecube controller compatibility and fancy HD graphics, I’d be all over that. It’s kinda sad that so far F-Zero got only two votes on this poll, including mine. You people should really give F-Zero GX a try.

Also Wind Waker already has a real sequel

As much as I love Mario Kart, I agree that GX was amazing. The amount of hype my friends and I got playing 4 player was inconceivable.

Would it be too off-topic to ask what you two don't like about Galaxy? I only played Galaxy for a few hours ages ago, but I still thought it was great, from what little I saw. :<

Sorry if I responding a bit late. >_<

To understand why I personally don't like Galaxy, you have to understand one thing: I don't normally like 3D Platformers. There are exceptions, such as Sunshine, where the environment, story, and presentation suck me in. The great thing about Sunshine was always the relaxed, vacationy vibe patted with the occasional time of suspense. That being said, I was looking forward to Galaxy when I heard about it.

However, when I popped that disk into my Wii, I was met with utter disappointment for these reasons:

- Galaxy treads just barely over the line between relaxing and boring. When I was playing, I felt as if I was just grinding a linear path, as opposed to exploring a world.

- Stylistically, someone decided to make the levels like those annoying levels of Sunshine, where the perspective is all out of whack. I often had to stop playing because I would just be disoriented from the changes in depth and perspective...

- While the designs were admittedly beautiful at first, once you stare at them long enough, you start to really lose interest. Each area is supposed to be unique, which I understand, but nothing works in coordination, a problem, which prevented me from truly admiring the work that was so obviously put into the game.

Of course, everyone has their own opinion, so if you like Galaxy, good for you. Just sharing my thoughts.

Sunshine.

TTYD (and Mario RPG) on this doesn't even make sense, the next one in the series is Super Paper Mario. Wind Waker would be okay if they could pull a sequel like they did with OoT & Majora's Mask where it was the same world and no contradictory nonsense popped up. The rest don't need it or have alternatives in their series.

sunshine

that ****ing music, i still remember it vividly, I love it

hell uea

Lol it works in the game, but it feels boring out of the game to me now. They all sound like one song with 57 variations of speed and sound. They should have added 'Mario Sunshine キーガン?クーパー、SMS/スモーク雑草を計算する'

Very interesting, I'll have to play it sometime and see for myself, it's been years since I even touched it. Even without having read your points I feel like I'll rate Sunshine above Galaxy as well, but I'll have to see. Thank you. :)
