My main town doesn't have a culprit (I have a shirt culprit instead...) and I don't spend enough time in my third and/or cycling town enough to tell. My second is a different story. I checked in last night and ran up to Fauna; felt bad I haven't been playing my second as much. Apparently her and Stitches have been a bit fond of one another as she now says "stuffin'." It was kind of cute so I didn't think twice. Checked in this morning to find Coco, Freckles, Olivia, and Rowan running around saying stuffin'. It's not annoying really? Just funny. I know catchphrases rub off on other villagers, but just this one villager's phrase is running rampant.
Julian. Not only does he have the viral catchphrase but he also has the viral clothing. At one point, half my villagers were walking around in the blue starry shirt and saying "glitter" - which was annoying to say the least. :B
All my villagers except 2 remained original...The culprits being Ruby and Flurry.
At one point, everyone said "Powderpuff" thanks to Flurry, then switched to "L'il ears" thanks to Ruby :v
The Flurry virus went back around again and now ~4 say "Powderpuff" and 3 say "L'il ears"
Managed to fix two of the catchphrases though, thank goodness orz
Thankfully, nobody at the moment. The only catchphrase that has spread to another villager is Ruby's to Coco, but for the rest their catchphrases and shirts are all stuff I gave them, or how they arrived in Snake's case.
The only "viral" thing is what they call me. I refuse to let them call me by any other name.
I'm not sure who started it but 'sweetie' went around for a bit. I didn't mind it at first and it seems to have passed by but Chief still has it and I really really really want to change it ;~; (Jeez ping me to change your catchphrase already)
(And I had the viral shirt thing too with the natty tee. I put some designs up for display and most of my villagers are wearing those now but a few still remain in the natty tee. And the snowy sweater has made it's way into three of my villagers)
A few of my villagers still say 'cuz' which I recently discovered is Amelia's catchphrase. Funnily enough, Amelia's been moved out for months, but I think Tom and Rosie have been spreading it around town ever since she left.
Bianca, one of my starter villagers, kept spreading "Glimmer!" to most of my other villagers. Now it has been a long time since Bianca moved out of town and yet a few of the remaining animals that I cross still insist on "Glimmer!"ing all the time even to this date. Ironically my two Jock villagers seem to be stuck on the phrase the most, even though it is highly feminine in its nature.
Flora is the viral one.
It makes sense though as she's my oldest villager and her house is pretty close to four others. Plus she's a peppy and I have two jocks so they apparently get along enough to adopt each other's traits.
I used to not mind because I would make her say "I love you" as a catchphrase which became really cute when my other villagers began to say it. But I changed hers to "pinkly" recently to make them sound more diverse and now everyone says "pinkly". It's a little annoying actually.
My villagers had a point where their favorite thing in the world was "goatee" quq;
It's a catchphrase I gave Bruce, for whatever reason, and it spread like the plague.
Rodeo has been spreading "chaps", but it hadn't gotten too far before the couple it spread to came up to me asking for a new catchphrase. XD
It's actually shirts that are spreading like the plague in my town; I'm not sure who started it. The first villager I saw wearing one of my patterns was Diana, then Katt...and now nearly everyone is wearing one. >.> Meanwhile, Monique trended a shirt to Lolly (not one of my patterns), so I have those two walking around with some purple floral shirt on, and everyone else in one of my patterns.
I had to design a new shirt because I want to feel unique and separate from my villagers. XD
Fauna, I gave her the catchphrase, 'hunny' and Kid Cat, I gave him the catchphrase, 'crunchy,' as in doing crunches. Since Tammy moved to my town, Fauna, Zucker, and O'hare changed their shirt to match hers, but she changed her shirt, so it's different rom theirs now. She's a trend setter.
