This is going to be in the near future, but I’m planning on making a new island on a new switch. I was planning on going for Sterling, but now I kinda also want Bam for my theme. I have Sterling on Arctin and I don’t think my parents would mind me taking him for my island. Should I reset for Sterling so his house is better or should I go for Bam?

I’d like to emphasize that this isn’t a choose my only jock poll. I’m going to have both of them (both of them fit the woodland theme; Sterling’s my overall favorite villager and Bam is one of the best deer villagers) but I don’t like either’s actual house. So, this is more for who’s better off with their actual house.

I'm going to vote Bam because his real interior is just pretty bad. Personally I would rather have him in one of the starting interiors (I'm guessing it would be the blue one, which honestly is better than what you'd get otherwise: )

Sterling's actual house is pretty cool though, with that dungeon and all, and if you can get him from that other island you would be able to save yourself a lot of time and effort on the villager hunting :D

If that's the case it seems you want Sterling's house to be his normal one! So def start with Bam lololol

The problem is I kinda hate that dungeon theme 😓 but yea, looking at Bam’s room his isn’t much better.

Well, you could always go through the pain of trying to replace the items in his house, but I don't know if that's worth it. It takes incredibly long for a villager to start replacing their own items, and then even longer before they have the right items in the right spot... which means their house will be messed up for months. I'm currently going through that with Hornsby (who has finally replaced the thrash bags on his floor! 🥳 )

If you do end up doing that though, Sterling's walls/floor are definitely nicer to work with. :D

I'm personally biased towards Bam because he's been in every town that I've had since the beginning of New Leaf days, but Sterling is also a rly unique villager! I'd go for the one that you have more of an attachment towards though. If you don't to either one just go for Bam to keep your theme going.

I think Bam is to you what Sterling is to me: a jock that we have an attachment to because of NL. I’m just upset that they ruined Sterling’s house (in my eyes) but both of them fit my woodsy theme. I’m just wondering that since I have real easy access to Sterling if I should just go for Bam.

If you're tempted by how easy it would be to get sterling back onto your island, I'm still pushing for you to go for it. If the attachment is that big, maybe another idea would be to surround his house in nicer castle items on the outside? If you're willing to go all out you could even raise the ground around his home, build a small castle on that for him, and have a ramp down to his dungeon o:

I’m not planning on doing real big projects for my neighborhood (though it’s going to be miles above what I have currently) but I’ll keep that in mind if I just take Sterling from Arctin.

Ah yeah, it would be hard to do that in a neighbourhood. Don't mind me, just providing unsolicited ideas :P Good luck with whatever you end up doing though, having your own new island is going to be exciting!

I voted for Bam because I like his design a lot better than Sterling. Also, I've had Bam before in New Leaf and he was actually pretty good! I'm not a big fan of the jock villagers, as I only like a couple of them out of the so many there are, so yeah...

Also, if you don't mind their starting house interiors, then go with what you like, but if you do go with Bam and don't like the starting house interiors, then go with the other one instead.

The thing is that I had Sterling in NL and he became my all-time favorite villager in that game. Right now I want both and think they’re pretty much interchangeable at this point.
