Color pencils,I don't like how the lines are exposed when the ink's dried with markers

I voted colored pencils. I think you can make even the cheapest colored pencils look pretty decent.

But you actually need good markers to make nice marker art. :D

Ugh ; - ;

I love both my Prismacolors and my Copics, but Copics will always be the best <3

I might just be really stupid but I'm so confused as to what markers are. I asked google but I keep seeing pictures of what to me looks like highlighters, sharpies and felt pens. Does markers encompass all those?

If it does then yeah I'll go for markers over coloured pencils because of how much fun it is to write with them. I never use coloured pencils, I always draw in black and grey.

Pens. Not ballpoint though, those are super bad quality.

Depends.

I use markers, the ones with very fine points, to make drawings stand out. And it also looks nice, lmao.
I use colored pencils more, though, but I think they're just as good. :rolleyes:

What so like, any pen apart from a ballpoint is a marker?! That's so weird. So like. Are gel pens markers? Are highlighters markers?

this is what markers are where I live. I don't consider pens to be markers. I guess you could say a highlighter is a marker. Same with Sharpies. Although since Sharpie is the brand and they make all kinds of other pens and such as well that wouldn't be technically correct, but that's just what I think of them as.

apparently a marker is just a pen with an ink source and (usually) a felt tip. But to me pens and markers are two different things. So it's just going to depend on the person/region, honestly.

Like... just markers ok?!

What they said.

I like both.

Colored pencils are very easy to use and almost always have a nice output.

On the other hand, if done right, using markers can create a very good picture, but are very easy smudge and overflow. (I'm not saying any of you are bad at using markers though)

Thank you very much ^-^ that was very helpful! I was just really confused by the terminology and didn't understand the comparison at first, but I get it now. Thanks again ^^
