hmm i think i personally like a mix of both? half of my villagers are villagers i've either gotten from the campsite or have been a surprise move in of some sort, while the only villagers that i was given to for free from friends have been Tia and Merengue! Fauna I ended buying for a decent price, but she has been very precious so overall having her has made me really happy ///
I'm also not the best at choosing favorites...? So I can never truly be very strict on what dreamies I would like, or if I can even call them "dreamies" because I am unsure myself of how much I would truly like them until I actually have them. (If that makes sense -- !) so overall, i'm pretty sure I like being both organized with my villagers and dreamies, but also I don't mind going with the flow as well! Things will place themselves in time. (Although when an unwanted villager moves in, it really is hard to get them to move out, which really does tend to make things more of a hassle...)
I do both, actually. Since I have several towns I have a couple with dreamies and dreamies I'm working on getting. The other one has a lot of random villagers and I enjoy getting to know them and seeing how much I'll enjoy having them in my town.
I suppose if I had only one town I'd start with random, and then get around to figuring out my ultimate dreamies and then work on getting them all once my town is nearly completed as far as PWP's and stuff like that goes.
I'm kind of in-between. I have 5 villagers that I basically plan on keeping forever (or at least a long time), while I let the others come and go. (I do keep some longer than others, depending on how much I like them). But I don't think I'd like a town full of dreamies. For one thing, it would quickly become a chore to keep them all around. And I think it would get boring with the same faces all the time. The randomness of seeing who you get next (or who shows up at the campsite) is one of the few things left that give your town a bit of variety.
Hmm, I'd have to say both... I like having my dreamies but I also like experiencing other villagers too. Since I'm going to have my dreamies move in permanently I think I could spend some time with others I'm not planning on keeping since it is kinda the point why the game moves out your old villagers?~
I personally prefer to get the villagers i want. My sister, back when she played, let anyone who asks to move out move out. After she achieved her dream town, she had a new goal of meeting all 333 villagers. Never finished it before boredom set in, lol.
