Which cranky should I plot reset for?

So I started a new town recently, and I don't have any cranky dreamies. My town theme is like, childhood nostalgia, so I want bright, colourful, happy looking villagers, which does not exactly match most of the crankies. BUT, at least until I can move out my crankies to get my dreamies, the game is gonna force me to get a cranky, and so on the day that the game forces me to get a cranky, I'm gonna keep plot resetting to get whoever seems like the best cranky for my town, in the off chance he ends up growing on me.

My explanation of how plot re-setting changes the random move-in villager probably sounds complicated, but what I'm really asking for here is: are there any crankies you think are good for a childhood/nostalgic, happy, brightly coloured town?

For the idea of the childhood/happy/brightly colored idea I would opt maybe the following crankies:

- Butch: He's a dog and with a great color scheme, not very bright but natural colored. His expressions and also his house exterior and interior really gives me a 'dad'-vibe, so might fit with the childhood theme!

- Ricky: A natural looking squirrel with a strange grin. He looks a bit grumpy, but with the blue patch on his head childlike. Like, the bully on school or something XD He's the kid who picks on others because he simply doesn't know how be make friends.
His house exterior and interior also has a natural and bit childlike-feel to it.

- Static: Same as Ricky, but more like a cool guy. The popular guy in school and acting like it too. With his lightning bolt. Hs interior and exterior house reflects this for me too.


That's the top 3 I find fitting with a childhood theme =)

Chief always appears pretty happy to me, he doesn't strike me as a typical cranky and while not exactly bright coloured, he looks like somebody who could fit in with the theme you're going for. Although I'm not explaining my reasons too well I know I just think he would fit.

For brightly coloured, Static might be a good choice with his bright green lightening bolt might be a good choice. And he's a brilliant villager. He's somebody who reminds me of the kids in school who would rebel against anything and anyone. Just that mischievous look on his face, makes him look younger than he probably is being a cranky, which I find adorable.
O'hare might work too. I know he's not brightly coloured (although he does have that caramel on his head and a green nose) he doesn't strike me as a typical grumpy cranky.

I'm all in favor of Static or Vladimir - purple lightning squirrel or bubble gum pink buck toothed teddy bear!

I personally like Tom the cranky cat :3 He's bright blue so he'd fit into your colorful theme, and some of the things he says are really cute. For example, when you tell him you think he's nice, rather than scary, he's really surprised and happy but wants you to keep it a secret because he has a tough guy reputation to uphold.

Among all the crankys that have passed through my town, I liked Rooney the kangaroo best. He was also one of my five starters.
It was a pity that I didn't like his house though...

Another villager I would suggest is Octavian! The octopi villagers are just so cool, I think he could fit into that sort of town.

Chief!!! He is the BEST. His house is absolute garbage though, his walls and flooring are deteriorating but he has the cutest personality and is my all time favorite villager! I've tried sending him wallpapers and flooring but he won't change it. I just LOVE him. Get Chief!!!

Ah, I had completely forgot about Octavian. He does look kind of grumpy but he's got the colouring and I find his shirt to be quite child-like. He could possibly work too if you change your mind about Static
