WHHOOAA! Merengue now more popular than Marshal?

Niether are my favourite, but they ARE popular for a reason and I can see why. Except Marshal's popularity does stifle me at times... but I guess people like his simplicity.

My reaction to simplicity is "Why settle for a little, you could get much more!" ('Summer Belongs To You' quote FTW!), as I have stated many times, I LOVE more unique villagers!

I also love more complex things more than simple (Reason why Elsa is one of my favorite Disney characters, she is such a complex character! I rank her only behind Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, who was SO well written in Epic Mickey!!!) I can enjoy simple things as long as they are creative as well (Which is why I love the Kirby games so much!)

I know, right! Of course, if I were making the list, Marshal would be number 335. Oh wait, there are only 344 villagers. Sorry Marshal fans, but at least I was settle about saying I really, REALLY don't like Marshal.

The Top Tier

I've seen Merengue absolutely EVERYWHERE lately.. She's been on so many dreamy lists it's unreal..

With Marshal I think his popularity peaked a few months ago.. A lot of people who want the marshmallow squirrel now have him, and are moving onto others..

While Merengue's still holding onto her popularity.. She's on many obtained dreamy lists, but also is still being looked for plenty of times..

Hence why I've bumped Merengue up, but as I said, it may be temporary

Some of this may have to do with forum members who come and go.

I've been here since last November. Now that we're in he beginning days of May, I notice lots of relatively new people who signed up in parts of March and April. And they, I believe, are the lion's share of forum members in pursuit of the Top Tiers that keep Mergengue, Marshal, and Lolly comprising the Top Three of that Top Tier. Same goes with Diana and the latest resurgence of both Beau and Fang.

The ones who have declined, yes, were acquired by those who have been around for a while. Among them: Julian and Stitches are very notable, because they were Top Five in that Top Tier; and, in the early period of my participation here, I recall that Lucky was in the ranks of Top Tier.

This is all very interesting.

I had Merengue once but it didn't click like it did with Marshal. He will stay my number 1.

I'm lucky that most of my dreamies are even just Tier 5, cheap deals for me. Getting Ankha won't be easy though. I do understand why Merengue is so popular, people tend to love the food themed animals and she looks cute to boost. Marshal is like this bishi cool type squirrel which is also why he's so succesful. Neither are my dreamies and if I would get them by chance I probably won't keep them (space for actual dreamies) but I can see me thinking twice before removing either of them.

Aww! I'm glad! Merengue was one of the first starter villagers I had and I have to admit that in the beginning I didn't really get the hype. But now, she's happily installed in my town and has the highest friendship level with my mayor. c: She's a sweetie, I will never give her away <3
