Where's your windmill and why?

Finally got the request and now have no idea where to put it. Anyone want to share how you decided for the placement because I'm stuck.

Near a cliff, outside town hall.

Mine has bushes and flowers all the way around it.

I put it there because it looked like a practical spot for a windmill, plus it looks nice there. ^_^

I have mine near a pond. I don't know, I need to get a good pattern for the ground, so it looks like a river is feeding into the pond and windmill.

In my previous town it was right next to The Roost. They looked really good together.

In my current town I'm not sure if I'm going to be building it.

Maybe post your town map for us? I have my lighthouse on a cliff which is surrounded by a river on one side, the beach on another, and land on the other side.

I wish I could post my map but it didn't work when I tried before... But I think if I take out a lamp post kind of behind the instrument shelter sort of in front of Kody's house nearer the river than the cliff side, it might look good... My problem is that in my mind it should have space, not too many trees and not be too near their houses... It shouldn't be as hard as I'm making it but I screwed up a bridge placement by one square early on and my confidence got shook and my grass is just too good for me to want to take chances. If you really want to take a look I can give you my DA but I've landscaped since then... just flowers though so everything else is the same.

mine is by the river. I didn't think it was an ideal spot, but I'm still glad I put it there.

I put mine near the Re-tail in between the lone pond (I have) and the river. I usually put it in the corner near the cliff or inside a peninsula-like area but I needed a big space and it's the first time I've built mine in an open area. I really wanted something like a picnic area by the windmill where everyone could unwind xD It also happens to be one of the PWPs that's close to the villager houses so I see them walking by or hanging out there sometimes.

Unfortunately, I don't have anymore Uchi Villagers in my town. But one of my villagers did request a wind turbine, and I put that near a cliff on a beach

Did you plot reset to get the villagers in those spots or did you hack?

I usually place mine inland and not by the water which is where I place the lighthouse. Then I will decorate with shrubs and tiles. The windmill is probably in my top five public works projects. It is a very fairy-tale-esque feature that I have in every one of my towns.

This time I put the fountain someplace totally different than what my mind would think is a logical spot and it works really really well but I guess it's just the way the map is laid out because my plaza is above the river beneath the train station kind of in the middle and there's a natural fountain shaped curve along the river beneath the plaza and it especially looks amazing from the other side of the river too. Tabby was residing directly in front of my town hall at the time so it's all her fault but since it turned out better than expected so just left it... and the flower clock is above at the top of the plaza so it's a nice balance. It gets tougher placing them the more you get your town established, at least that's what I'm noticing. And I didn't have to wait four and a half months for any PWPs in my last town either. I think the game is paying me back for amiiboing out my starter cranky and that pitiful uchi who put her house in a lousy spot so never stood a chance anyway.

based on my map layout, I went with the northwest corner near the tracks and plaza. I did some great landscaping there and the windmill just makes everything come together.
