Not to crazy about the map (yea its not for me lol) So its a no for me 
But I were to put a house on here it would go next to the eastern beach entrance. Its a nice secluded section

I vote the top X of this image.
If not slightly higher than the X to really style up the front yard.
I don't like the map that much, it seems like it would be annoying to come and go between the beach and Re-Tail if you're fishing or gathering shells, and especially if you've brought back a full basket of items from the island. I think that in maps where Re-Tail is on the North of town, it's usually more practical for there to be a single beach. But it's a decent map, and I think it would be awesome to make something interesting with it.
I'd put my house close to the sea on the south side or on the cliff in the north side (unless you're planning on putting a lighthouse there).

YES. Either of those. I didn't notice the bottom one at first, I was going to say definitely in the top section by the ramp, but the bottom area works too. It depends if you'd rather be above/below the river.
Other than that, maybe just underneath the "river pool" on the south side? you could have bridges on either side of your house, that way. It all depends, really.

I would put it near the ramp and the bridge. Just be aware that you might not be able to place a bridge in that area.
I don't want to sound mean or anything but...
There's a ton of maps and there is no, really no map everyone likes. Don't reset because of that, dude. D: It's your game, you should enjoy it!
Yeah, I would go with one of these OR in front of the side waterfall and use the pond to make a garden area. Map wise, I'd say it was pretty decent, plenty of space and not too may ponds, I also like how stuff is lined up at the top. Though I personally prefer my town tree to be more central.
Edit: there's no such thing as a perfect map. It's silly to reset it because some people didn't like it because you're literally never going to have a map that everyone likes.
