Splatoon Where is everyone in singleplayer mode?

As the title says, where is everyone in singleplayer mode? I only have one mission to go until I face DJ Octavio... sounds hard.

The first thing I did was complete single player mode.

I 100% Single Player a while ago, but sometimes I go back when I'm bored to play some levels for fun or watch the credits.
I don't have any Amiibo.

Finished it within the first couple of weeks the game came out. I wanted to unlock everything, haha.

I've done the amiibo challenges as well. Those limited ink courses, eek! The one where you have to ink the invisible path was the toughest one for me, I think.
