Where do cedars grow and not grow?

I know I've heard something about cedar saplings not growing in certain areas in town and I would like to clear up any misunderstandings, where do they grow and not grow? Do they grow in the South part of the town part only? Top part of the town only? I've heard so much about this that it's confusing lol

I think they will grow on the top half of the town so looking at the map, everything North.

Cedars will not grow in the southern parts of your town. Only grow north.

They stop growing pretty much at the center half of your map. It pretty annoying :L

Yeah, I learned this lesson the very VERY hard way

I planted like 6 at a time, only to go in the next way and find them all wilted. Devastated.

I'm so sorry to hear that, that's why I came here to ask the question before I almost placed them in the wrong areas, which I have done a lot and trust me, it sucks to just find that they wilted.

I really wanted to plant cedars in the bottom half of my town as well, just because I adore cedar saplings and I'm creating a natural looking town, just to find out that I can't made me really sad because it would fit and look so well. >___>

I found out quite late that they only grow in the North I really wanted them on display near the plaza ready for when they get decorated at Christmas. Unfortunately with how I've set everything out there's not really anywhere in the North to place them now

didn't know they had to grow in a specific place. i guess i never tried growing them on the southern part. huh, interesting.
