I placed mine right in front of a cliff overlooking one of my beachs. I thought it would be exquisite to have a beachfront caf? with only the tropical bushes in front. I love its placement and I wouldn't change it for the world. Oh, I also put it next to a river and bridge for easy access and convenience. There's a small bamboo garden behind and a rose garden close by.
In my three towns (Dream Addresses are now updated), I have The Roost Cafe in areas that aren't close to houses. That they are located in areas that look like they are for businesses (or if not business, The Roost Cafe is a commons building accessible to all).
In Applewin, The Roost Cafe is in the center of town as you cross over from north to south. In Progress, it's in the southwest area with a east/west bridge for convenient access. In Temps, it's in the northern half of town but in the southwest section with a north/south bridge for access that takes you to or from where the Lighthouse is located.
The villager with the closest access to The Roost Cafe in Applewin is Twiggy. The villager with the closest access to The Roost Cafe in Progress is Apollo. The villager with the closest access to The Roost Cafe in Temps is Zucker. But none of those residents' houses are practically next door to The Roost Cafe. There's a pleasant and appropriate space between business and residences.
The top half of my town only has two villagers, my house, the campsite and Retail, so I have it there. It's also across the river from my police station.
I'm going to put it across the river from my house. I'm just waiting until the 18th so
Coach moves out. There should be enough room for it, and a nice little area that I
can place a bench and maybe a lamp. Enjoying takeaway coffee outside is one of my
favorite things to do, irl. It would be cool to reflect that in my game. ^^
I put it next to Re-Tail! I like to keep the shops together. I usually will put the police station next to town hall to keep the government together too
