Where are they???

Okay, I'm sure this isn't just me, but does anyone else find that during a certain time everyday, you "lose" one or two villagers?

I kinda noticed it over the last couple weeks, but this week I had a good look at it, as I'm gifting hanging terrariums to everyone to get their photos.

Monday Caroline was missing
Tuesday Coco
Wednesday Kabuki and Tank

All late morning into early afternoon.

I've checked behind trees and buildings, inside every building and on ledges.

Any ideas?

At the moment Kabuki and Tank are still MIA.

my villagers like to hide in the museum and on the small beach at the back of the map lol

My villagers always hide which is annoying sometimes, I fixed it though by restarting the game.
Hope there might be an update which allows players to locate a villager thats similar to a megaphone, but without the microphone.

I often find my villagers hiding behind and obscured by my trees.

Just save and restart the game. This will randomize their location, except for the villager that is crafting.

I've checked the museum - tediously searching every room.

Also, wove in and out of trees and my hidden beach now has a ramp so it's pretty visible.

I think I'll trying saving and going back in.

They can also be in another village's home!

They are sometimes at other villagers' houses, the museum or the shops though, at this stage, I wouldn't be surprised if there truly was a harmless bug of sorts that made them "disappear" for a given length of time during the day.
The good news is, restarting the game usually resets their positions. Also, sometimes just entering and exiting your house, a villager's house or the shops, etc., will spawn someone outside.

Yup, checked there too.
Just saved and went back in and they've both reappeared - though Kabuki is sitting on a bridge so I can't get past or give him any gifts!

I always manage to lose a villager or two when im trying to gift them! but im pretty sure you can find them in the museum, the shops or on the hidden beach! its like a wild goose chase, or a game of hide and seek!! hahahaa!

I’ve noticed that villagers are super fast when off camera, like, I’ll walk outside nooks cranny and see audie, run down and around and suddenly she is at the beach (which is far away). So I suspect that most times I can’t find them, it’s because they move too fast. Usually I find them after looking for some time, but once I could never find Wolfgang for en entire day

You can't gift them while they're sitting down anyway, which is pretty annoying actually.
There was a number of times I had my gifts all wrapped up and ready and the villager would just continue sitting for what seemed like hours on end.

I want the megaphone back or maybe the ability to text them? Or call them and follow the sound of their phone..., Also, always lose Daisy Mae because she’s the size of a bean and she keeps hiding behind my trees and cliffs! Please, Daisy, stay in one place and I’ll give you cash!

If you whip out the camera and start taking pics they'll usually get up and leave (they're shy~)

I had one or two times where Sherb would disappear at night. As a lazy, his normal bedtime is 11 pm, but his house/door message would say he was still out, and I couldn't find him at the museum or another villager's house. Then an hour later or so the door message would flip (without me ever seeing him) and it would say he was asleep.
