Not gonna lie, when the last of my original five left me, I kind of felt like I failed some kind of personal mission. What bothers me the most about it is when I sit in front of the tree in the town plaza and I see all of these move-in dates. I don't know why, but I hate that I failed to keep one of my original five around. If I hadn't put so much work into my town I would probably even reset, but I'd hold a bunch of my stuff on another game card. I don't wanna lose all my progress. I just want to feel that same accomplished feeling that I felt a few months ago. :l

Frank is my only remaining original villager. He'll leave soon enough, I suppose. I don't feel like a failure, though, because I've chosen to let them leave. If you had wanted your villagers to stay, you could have asked them to, right?

You can always get those villagers back when you cycled through 16 (?) others.
But I think it doesn't matter whether they were there the day you planted the tree or whether they moved in yesterday, they're all just your villagers. Personally, I'm not even sure who my originals were without looking at a screenshot.

Some yes, but others I lost through neglect. I tried to make sure I saw them everyday, but sometimes they eluded me for days and I try to TT as little as possible. Coco was lost because she wouldn't come out for days and no one in town warned me >>

True, but that doesn't matter to me really since they wouldn't act as though they'd always lived in my town. They're just a tiny bit different when they're original. v.v

I still have two of my originals (Roscoe and Filbert)! I think I'm gonna hold them both captive forever at this rate.

My only remaining original villager is Ankha, and I have no intention of letting her go.

Jeremiah is my only original villager, and I'm keeping him forever :3 I even landscaped the area around his house so it would look nice. As far as villagers go, he's pretty spoiled lol

I only started my town in September and of my original 5 (Goldie, Lobo, Elmer, Pierce & Pippy), I still have all but 1 of them - Pierce.
It is nice to keep an original or two but it really doesn't matter, I intend to keep Goldie and Lobo forever and the other two are undecided yet. You'll find new villagers in due course.

I never keep my original five.... even if a dreamy lives in the town, usually its in a terrible location that I would want to move anyway.... my thing with the tree is when all my villagers have like the same move in date because I'm a terrible person to TTs to get their villagers

Coco is the only original villager left in my town. I'll make sure that she will NEVER leave. She's been there to see my town grow and thrive.

I take a picture of my original town at the tree planting ceremony when it says founded on the date! I still have Riften's from over a year ago!

I never cared about that since all of mine now are campers or peeps I bought off here.. I strategically did not start with any dreamies or ones I really wanted, mostly because I knew they would move out and I wanted to keep a better track on when I get dreamies.

I do have all of my dream villagers currently, and I plan to keep them around as long as I feel I love them, but I still remember my originals and it's been almost a year since I started. Actually I remember all but one. Makes me feel bad for whoever it was xD, but it just makes me a little bummed to think that, while this is silly, none of my og friends can see my our town grow

Coco was my last og villager and she was my best friend at the time. I missed her so much, but she lives in my mom's town and since she's been gone I feel I've started to move on. I'll still love her though <3 doyoing

I feel more sad when a villager I really love leaves without a word. Whether he/she was an original or not. I find I develop connections with certain villagers and others are just mehh to me.

Sometimes, someone will move in who I really feel like I won't care about and then that villager will surprise me by becoming one of my favorites. That happened in my last town with Lucky. He moved in and even though I knew he was popular, I thought he was kind of weird. Then, after talking to him for a while, I realized how hilarious and awesome he is!

Maybe you just need the right villager to move in, you know? Even if he/she isn't an original, that villager can still earn a special place in your heart!
