Okay, so... A while ago, I abandoned New Leaf as I got a Switch and so I sold my 3DS
as well as the game, as I thought that I wouldn't play with it anymore, because I gave
the Switch my whole attention. However, I start to miss playing Animal Crossing over the
time. :/ Don't get me wrong, I love the Switch and it's fun to play with it, but since it looks
like it will take a while till Animal Crossing will come out for this console, New Leaf is right
now still the newest AC main game. So yeah, I just bought a used 3DS and the game
and now I play it again, yay. I got a nice town and now start to build up everything. It's
actually really nice to play it again when you didn't play it for a long time. Also, I can now
switch between my Switch (lol) and the 3DS whenever I get bored and want to play with
the other one.

Have you ever thought you lost interest in New Leaf and stop playing it, however
you kinda miss the game and start playing it again? If so, did you continue you with
the town you had or did you made a new one?

I didn't play AC for a very long time after WW. I even got NL pretty late after its release, because I did have fond memories of the AC games. I don't even remember how far I was in before I got preoccupied with lots of other things and left the game to gather dust.
Just recently I got the urge to play again. Starting a new file, because I wanted to experience the entire game ftom the beginning. This time I got more into it, actually making an effort and enjoying building my town. Also the reason I joined this forum, to look things up and meet other active players. I knew the game was very soothing, but didn't know it could be so much fun :)

happens a lot.

you play for months, leave for months, and the pattern keeps going lol

The game is very contagious. I didn't think about really playing it, but watching someone play the game just makes me want to play it, too. I then get addicted to the game for a couple of months before slowly dropping it, stop playing for a few months before watching someone else play it then get addicted again.

There was a point where I was just bell farming a lot and then I just dropped it for a bit.
Other than that, I've had on and off interest whenever I was trying to finish some part of my town.
I'd use the same town, because I don't see a reason to do that all over when it's possible to have it not change. I can understand if you just lost interest in the file, however.
There was a time I picked up Wild World again alongside New Leaf, just for a change of pace.

Ok, well, I fit in here. I have ALWAYS been a huge AC fan. Played on GC then I played WW and NL, and I was into it big. 4-5 yrs ago I had a 3ds and ACNL I played SO much. I had everything in the game. LOL. Well, eventually it slowed down and adult life got hectic and I sold my 3ds and games and just was without it for the last 4-5 yrs. I recently, within last couple weeks, got the new 3ds again and ACNL Welcome Amiibo and the Blathers Amiibo to go with it. So I am having a blast again. I'm all back into it and staring from scratch again has been so fun.

i didnt play it for 2-3 months last year and i thought that maybe i got bored of it but turns out im just more drawn to this game when my mental health isnt good lol, now im back to playing almost daily and enjoying it more than anything else in my days

This is me as well. Since the release of the game, I might have reset my town about 20 times. I used to start over, be obsessed with it for a couple weeks and then abandon it for at least 4-5 months and then start over again. The thing is, I'm sort of a perfectionist and if anything doesn't go my way, I want to reset. It is very annoying, but I can't help myself. Some towns lasted until Shampoodle was being built, but 75% of the time Kicks wouldn't even get the chance to open his shop.
Despite all this, I still love the game. I reset my town a couple days ago. Obsessed again.

I haven't lost interest or felt like that in New Leaf ever since, even to this day after playing straight up 5 years... Guess I'm a real AC fanatic. lol

I think we all get a little burnt out from playing it too much and deserve a break. I can go months without playing and pick it up again and i'll get obsessed and spend several hours playing it. it's an endless cycle. I do get discouraged when i pick it up again and villagers have moved out. sometimes i'll reset. sometimes i'll continue working at it.

I've lost interest in it quite a lot, but once in awhile I get back on every now and then. Personally, I just want a better, fresh start to a new AC game at the moment. Trying to not start over and over can be really hard for me, but I will break the habit. >:c
