So,
I had a thing that happened to me like 3 months ago. I have an extra 7/11 set and decided to sell it on a forum where the usual price for it was 24 million.
I did an auction, and there was this girl trying to bid, who was really into it, wanted it absolutely, seemed genuine. I managed to let her win the auction and by PM I told her she could have the set for 5 million, she was thrilled, said she was so happy, that she'll take of it, and she asked me why I didn't sell it instead for 24 million. I told her she seemed to really want it and i didn't want to be greedy and let others be happy for once. She then said, "Oh please, I don't have a lot of money since I started the game, could you lower it to 3 million", I accepted.

BIG FAT MISTAKE.

Few seconds later, another user posted a thread selling it for 24 million. That user bumped, and then it was the girl I sold it who bumped it. And then she said "oops, I guess people saw my real identity, I'm the OP". i was amazed, she only bought it to get PROFIT. 21 MILLION BELLS OF PROFIT. I really was annoyed, contacted her by PM and she said "shut up, I do what I want, you sold it to me so I get to do whatever I want with it", she then ended the discussion. Ever since, I don 't want to do any favor to others unless I know the person, I mean I don't want to sell it for a lower price. I've learned my lesson -_-

Has this kind of scenario ever happened to any of you guys?

Wow that's just disgusting. If I ever got something expensive from somebody kind for cheap I'd never re-sell it for profit. That's just ****ing disrespective

You have to be careful with things like that, most people are *******s on the internet, unfortunately. :( Really sorry that it happened to you, but at least you won't let it happen again.

Wow she sounds like a real she-dog ;( didn't even know the 7/11 set sold for 24million... I just give them away :l

Wow...that's just pathetic...next time threaten a negative rating if there is a resell.

Basically,it hurts. Sorry for my language, but she is a b***. This is an example of how cyclers/people who do giveawaysnfeel, when you sell the things for profit that they gave to you for free. May I know which website forum you posted on?

That sucks, I don't know why anyone would act that way especially about pixels.
Hope this never happens again to you OP.

QFT! I'm really sorry this has happened to you, Lassy. It's awful when people take advantage of you. Don't let it get you down, take it as proof that you're a better person than that greedy little pest. She showed that she's lacking personality and that's just pathetic.

I bought a dreamies for a person I pitied on, end up actually he/she can afford it but acting all the poor puppy tears eyes. After that incident, I never did anything for anyone anymore (except tiiiiiiiiiiiny minor help).

I also had my friend told me that he gave Ankha to someone who told him that that's her dreamies. He happily gave up his own Ankha (he like this villager too) because that what he always did, kind person, but what happen next, the girl got an original Ankha from someone else and gave his to other people. He was so upset right now =(

Aww the nerve of some people ;(

That's just rude and simply atrocious. I guess there are people out there who can be very insensitive and greedy! The good thing is you were genuinely nice enough to give her the set for so low out of good intentions! I came across some very unappreciative people before , and although upset, I thought to myself "it's the genuine thought of wanting to help that person is what counts, even if they are unappreciative." Good on you for being a generous person, and shame on that person for being insensitive and greedy! ^~^

My policy is to never involve a large amount of money/valuable items if I'm gonna do someone a favor. That way there's less situations like this. It's almost always better to do large-value trades 1:1 if you don't know the person.

However, doing people favors is not a negative thing, no matter the outcome. At least you can walk off knowing you did a kind thing and that person you traded with probably knows she did wrong.

Hah I think it goes like this. The girl suppose to take his Ankha but did not cause she getting another original Ankha so probably his in boxes already so have to give someone else. I not very clear he haven't reply me. But is terrible to do that!!

But back to your case, that girl is totally terrible and have attitude problem! If she was in her young age, then this is a very bad behaviour she got!!

YOU KNOW HOW YOU GIVE A PIECE OF AN EXPENSIVE SET TO A VILLAGER
AND SEE THEM SELLING IT IN RE-TAIL???
IT'S LIKE THAT EXCEPT MUCH LESS CUTE AND MUCH MORE RUDE

No but seriously, that's awful. I hope that doesn't happen to you again. Or to anyone.

I got a lot of good things for free/cheap. I cataloged a Rococo Set from my friend so instead of selling it, I try using it for trades and giveaways. I got cute, expensive villagers like Flurry from my friend and Marshal with the help of really kind people. If they ever move out I will be giving them away for free or trading them for other villagers because it feels awful selling them off after receiving them out of kindness. The fact that the person didn't feel terrible by what they've done is just plain disgusting to me. I hope they get corrupted data. > n>; /spitespitespite

Anyway, don't let these things get you down. I've actually been scammed twice, and I am properly paranoid when it comes to trades now, but there are still a lot of good people around who can be trusted. Especially in this community. In TBT wi-fi ratings are really good for that. I almost never trade or make deals anywhere else. xD

yaas

But I admit, that sucks. I hope their hilariously thoughtless attitude catches on fast in whatever community they're in so they're cut off from trades altogether. Really, do not bite the hand that feeds you.

A similar situation: I played another game a lot around four years ago. When I got job advancement, I was really excited and happy because I was extremely slow at leveling. I've had a lot of other kind people help me in the past then too, so when a girl came up to me and asked to "try my account" because I had the job she said she was aspiring to have, I agreed. I told her "so long as you don't touch anything!" and she was totally fine when I was still logged in.

Fast forward one day, she wiped everything from my account. I was surprisingly calm about it (even now, I realize it was easy to restore considering haha and my friends had helped) but when I confronted her, she played dumb. It was really ridiculous. She left an ugly fashion set on my character- the only thing she left heh.

Funny thing is, that fashion set came free in an event so everyone was wearing it for fun. People did "parades" where they'd just put on the set and march around the towns in groups. I figured since I had nothing left except it, I might as well join, and that's where I met my best friend for the first time. I don't quite believe in karma or anything but if there was a moment I could choose, that would be it.

Of course I'm considerably less trusting than I was back then, but also less stupid. It's never a bad thing to do something in honest kindness, but sometimes the best acts are reserved for people who you know care about you!

I hope the person who did that to you will one day be unable to find someone kind enough to help them when they need it.

Once she'd said that, I would've instantly been suspicious.
If she'd been bidding the full amount before you said you'd give it to her cheaper she either obviously had that amount or she was just a time waster. As soon as she asked you to lower it because 'she didn't have much money' I would've said as much and probably contacted the previous bidder.

Live and learn I guess.
In another online game I played I once had a pair of cat ears that were a purely decorative thing.
Anyway I agreed to sell them to a guy for 40mil, he came and opened the trade window but for some reason when trading money it didn't have a decimal point so he put the amount in and I had to count the zeros.
The decimal point only appeared when in your inventory which is when I realized.
Turns out I miscounted and he actually only gave me 4mil, which is why he quickly blocked me and flew away lol

I was young and trusting, now I'm older and apparently rude, but I'm not getting scammed anymore.
Besides, it's only the scammers that don't like it when you point out they're trying to scam you lol

Been there too and now I am much much more aware of everyone I met online rather than being green to trust everyone will surely be nice to me if I am nice to them. That's just too naive, tbh.

I have a phobia of people scamming me. I am kind, but I am quite alert about scammers. I do everything I can to avoid being scammed.
