Sorry if something like this has been posted, but I wasn't able to find it.

I was wondering if anyone gets nervous about what villagers will say about your house when they come to visit? Do you keep talking to them, as you go from room to room, hoping they'll say something nice? Or do you cringe at the thought they might be overly critical?

I wouldn't say that I get nervous, as such, but I do find that I want my villagers to like how I've decorated my house. And I really want my favorite villagers to say good things about it.

What about the rest of you? Care or not?

I don't care really, I do only get nervous by real players. Cause they obviously have no coded dialogues.

cosmic-latte: Generally, I've found that to be the case, although they aren't too fond of you not having anything up on the walls. I guess it's that idea of "here's my vision, now tell me what you think", even if they are just pixels. ;)

Paperboy: I haven't created any dream addresses, nor do I generally go online (although that isn't the reason), so I haven't come up against real players. I'm sure I'd be nervous about what their opinions would be, though.

I always worry that, despite me leading them into each room, that they won't register they're actually inside the room and send a letter that they wished they could have seen the whole house. I feel like I need them on a leash!

I think it's cute how lazy villagers react to backwards-facing furniture. In the letter they send after the visit, they ask if the reason your furniture was facing the wall was because it did something bad. :p

The villagers never say something really bad about the interior, they are nice and positive, and I don`t care because it`s just dialog in a game. So please don`t worry and enjoy when a villager visits you!

One time Muffy said "Hmm.. That's an interesting place to put a toilet," when we were in a bathroom, haha. That's probably the worst I've got and my living room has furniture, clothes, flowers everywhere.. So don't worry!

I don't really feel anything about it since I don't care if they can't appreciate my perfect house. :P

I've noticed that they rarely say negative things, so don't worry! They laugh when they find something funny or confusing, like having furniture facing the wrong way or rooms they don't understand. The worst they do is comment on rooms that are empty or cluttered (like storage rooms) but they're not very mean about it, not any more than some of the stuff they usually say when you see them outside. Otherwise they tend to say positive things or make jokes related to their personalities.

Well, just remind yourself that they're coded dialogue and things like making villagers tell you to put things on the walls are just meant to help players who don't have many items or don't know how to do those things. :) If you tend to think more as your character, just think of them trying to be helpful by sharing their ideas with you.

Yes when certain villagers are visiting. My BFF tells me he need to check on my house to see if I'm eating okay and that it's clean.
To fix this I cleared my basement of clothing because they talked about it too much.
Put tables along the wall and put all my hats/glasses on display. Clothing is now in the closet. The villagers comments helped me get organized.
I love when they visit the kitchen and ask to call them when I'm making something.

I honestly don't care, and their negative feedback doesn't even affect me that much because they're npc's >.< it's not like they're all programmed to scanned exactly what's in the room so they can give "professional" judgement. But, they're all really kind and positive in general, so I wouldn't worry too much about it
