When villagers change their mind about moving...

Ugh. I'm replaying New Leaf after years of not playing (I'm on a new save), and I forgot how infuriating this feature is.

So, Gruff is on my island. I don't mind him, honestly. He was a starter villager, I don't particularly care for him but I don't hate him either. Just neutral toward him. He's fine!

The other day, he says he's thinking about moving. I say go for it. He agrees and says he's moving a few days from now.

Today, I talk to him and he mentions how he's unsure about moving. I tell him it's ok and whatnot. I'm not excited for him to move or anything; I'm just fine with it and curious about who will take his place.

"Did you just crack a SMILE at me moving? Well, now it's official: I'm NEVER leaving! You're STUCK with me!"

I think I hate him now.

This is why you shouldn’t give them a chance to change their mind. Just leave them alone and not speak to them until they are in boxes.

I was just doing my daily chat with him. I talk to them all once a day, y'know? I haven't played in ages, I forgot I had to ignore them.

funny, coincidentally i had gruff ask to move just the other day on my newer town as he's a starter villager there too, i dont mind him at all but simply want a new cycle of villagers at my town. at least yours agreed to move out during the first convo, the worst is when villagers bail on you and change their mind immediately after you click the "goodbye" option, which is exactly what gruff did to me.

like no, man, we dont need to become better friends or nothing, its not personal just plz move
