Purely coincidentally, of course, though maybe the change is imagined.

When thinking about getting rid of Amelia, all of a sudden she kept talk about how grateful she is for my patience, etc., and gave me her pic three times in a row in about two weeks for the simplest of tasks.

And when she finally pinged to move I hesitantly encouraged her to go, but she decided to stay, saying aren't we best friends, and oh I know what you're trying to do: Just want what's best for me, so encouraging me to follow my heart as a good friend would, heh.

I could've just restarted without saving, but I was already hesitant and decided not to.

So... has anyone thought of getting rid of a villager, only to change their mind when, by pure coincidence, they seem to try to convince you to change your mind, acting more sweet-natured than usual?

I almost kept Kiki in town, I loved her so much, but she wasn't a dreamy and I had just gotten Lolly. Unfortunately, when TTing to get an unwanted villager to move, she was the first to ping. I got her adopted by someone who had been searching for her for a long time, which was nice, at least. Now she's showing up on my Main Street, and I've sadly realized I like her more than Lolly. I'll have to settle with her being there, though, I don't want to try to 16 cycle.

When Hamphrey first moved in I thought he was the ugliest thing ever. I wanted him gone so badly. I kept trying to get him to ping me to leave, and his first legitimate ping (after dozens of other pings from other villagers) was him wanting to give me a nickname. He chose "missy" and I thought it was adorable considering he's cranky so it sounds like something my grandpa would say to me. Safe to say he's one of my forevers now.

I didn't really like Merengue that much and I almost let her go when she decided to ping me to move out of town. The reason I didn't is because she's literally the most cheerful villager in my town. My town wouldn't be the same without her!

Nooo! Not Kiki!

It could just be because my friendship with him was a lot stronger but letting Pietro move out was really hard for me. I already had two smug villagers at the time (Julian and Kidd) but the person who wanted Pietro was willing to trade me Marshal for him and I find him very cute so I agreed. When Pietro pinged I was pretty sad to see him go because he had given me his photo but I thought I would like Marshal more. All smug villagers are pretty much the same but I feel as though I have 100% warmed up to Marshal yet. Maybe I haven't talked to him as much. Pietro moved in 4 days after I first got the game, so I think he had a special place in my heart for being with me for so long and Marshal just moved in a couple weeks ago. It's going to take some time.

I noticed that when Pietro first pinged me I instantly regretted letting him leave because he sounded so disappointed in me LOL. It'll be okay. :<

It happened with Gaston.

I wasn't fond of him and his house. But I think after I got rid of his reel-to-reel (cause his music made his house so much creepier) and got to know Gaston, I fell in love with him. He's my funny bunny with a mustache <3 He never allowed to leave my town.

Willow has been a jerk before but, I think I'm giving her another chance. If she decides to move, fine, but I guess I won't force her.

It's happened with a few of my villagers, I found them annoying or boring at first but slowly began to like them a lot more and want to keep them, or don't particularly want to but will be a bit sorry when they move out.

There was this one villager, though. I won't say his name so I won't get people upset with me for not liking him. I just hated him. He was one of the first villagers to move-in and was such a big disappointment for me. I thought I'd like most of the characters in the game but I hated him so much. He was ugly, his house was ugly, and I hated his dialogues. I spent a lot of time trying to be mean to him, thinking that would make him leave, like setting traps for him, hitting him with the net, pushing him... Then suddenly he started to have conversations that were a lot nicer and being really sweet, giving me gifts, etc. I began to like his house a lot better and then I started to like him a lot. I'm probably going to keep him in my town if I can.
