When does "true fall" start in the game?

So it's technically fall, but I don't see any fall stuff sold at Able Sisters. I still see a bunch of summer items. Soooo when will it happen? I want all the fall sweaters and shoes

I believe late September or the beginning of October officially starts "fall" in game like the trees will change and such

same! Fall is beautiful in game and in real life with winter being my second. The trees are my favorite during this season same with winter. I think they take into account that fall technically doesn't begin until September 21st on calendar, so thats probably why it doesn't look like fall yet

A time traveler on this board posted the complete breakdown of dates when things will be changing. There's actually different changes every couple of weeks for the next few months, so I think you'll start seeing more "fall" stuff happening soon!

Autumn has already started. Changes will gradually happen over the next three months. More Autumn-like aesthetics won't really appear until the start of October/end of September.

I recently went to somebody who had their island set to the middle of October and the grass was still the ugly yellow color.

That leads me to believe that the grass and trees probably change at the end of October/beginning of November--the beginning of mushroom season. I was disappointed to find that out, since I'm also impatient for it to be 'true fall'.

Last week I started getting fall clothing from villagers and balloons. I wished the store would stock fall items.
