When does a new week start?

basically, when does the game determine the visiting NPC's for the week?

i didn't load the game today (monday) & i didn't buy turnips on Sunday so i was like, maybe i can finally cheat and go back the day celeste visited to try and get the moon diy. so i did. i cheated & returned last week tuesday. and she wasn't there, even after walking for a few minutes. i thought this is weird, i thought this is how y'all farm? then i thought probably the NPC's for the week already reset. so i tried going to friday because i remember CJ was there. and he was. even the items on nook's are still the same as that day, with the items i bought being gone.

what is it with tuesday that celeste is not appearing? i can't believe i've avoided time traveling, and when i did it didn't work for me.

oh so it's sunday not monday? CJ being there on friday was probably a coincidence then.... but wait... what's the explanation for my nook's items being the same last friday? even one of the items was marked sold.

I think the shop and all the visiting NPCs reset when it is Sunday. At least for me.

maybe nooks works different? i rarely pay attention to it but the npcs definitely reset with sundays

you're right. maybe nook's resets on a different day. or every 2 weeks idk. time travel seems a bit complicated in new horizons. there are differences and such. i talked to one of my villagers, and he said "we can't stop seeing each other" something like that, so i assumed the game is still on the same week.

also, i went inside able sisters and it's completely selling new stuff but nook's aren't. so many different mechanics lol. oh well at least i got message bottle DIY's.

let me try how pascal works with tt, since i'm already here.

i noticed when you go backwards villagers will act like it's the same day you were on previously (although iirc you can still give them a gift?), and able sisters resets everyday regardless of whether you go back or forth. it's very weird lmao

so ninji is right as usual, my visiting NPC’s of the week are still the same. it does set the schedule on monday. however, celeste did not return.

maybe because she’s not a whole day NPC, if that makes sense? idk. maybe i should ask him.
