I was so surprised when I got my gold badge from Phineas! I kinda just sat there, staring at my screen, thinking to myself... Have I really spent 500+ hours playing this game...? And it's crazy, since I got the badge just a few months after I first bought the game! Lol

I'm halfway there to stage 8 haha I have the 500 hours required, but not the days

Should be same number of days as hours, so 500 hours + 500 days total I'm not sure how many days I've been playing, so I don't know how much more I have left...

Mine might be at about stage 4 or 5 if we're going by hours. Other than going on hiatus a couple of times, I've played the game steadily since I bought it, but I don't play for many hours in a row.

It's hard to tell though because my town tree is losing its leaves right now.

I've been playing in my town daily since June 13th 2013, so my tree is a big old stage 8 thing now ^_^

I started my town on June 9th, 2013 (when it came out in America) but I haven't been playing it everyday. I went on month-long stretches where I never touched New Leaf. So I have no idea when it's going to hit the 8th stage.

Same here, with the difference that I started my town a day after the European release (so June 15th). Looking forward to seeing it grow into its final form.

Yeah, around fall/winter it gets smaller.

I just restarted, so my town tree is only at level 2 or 3 right now.

My tree is still in stage 3, as I restarted 1.5 month ago, but I think I'm about to reach stage 4. My town exists 49 days today, and I can only remember one day of not playing. So I'll probably be able to sit by the tree in the next few days.
