Whats your favorite home cooked meal!

My mum makes so much we have leftovers for lunch or another dinner.

Can't go wrong with a roast dinner either. 😋
 
I like trying new recipes but some favorites that I have made more than once are oven baked ribs, roasts in the crock pot, and corned beef. I also made soup before and I like making some pasta dishes. I haven’t made stuffed cabbage rolls in awhile but I enjoy making them as well.
 
My favorite is probably the meal I ask for on my birthday every year. It's a scampi of sorts with butter wine sauce, shrimp, artichokes, sun dried tomatoes, and feta cheese with a sprinkle of parmesan. Pair it with garlic bread and a Caesar salad? Heaven. My mouth is watering just thinking about it 🤤
 
Any sort of roast dinner! I love me some roasted chicken with stuffing, roasted potatoes, broccoli, honey-glazed carrots, and some gravy. Sometimes there's a good bit left over that you can have it the next day, so it's a time saver that way. You can make yourself a chicken and stuffing sandwich, too! Other than that, I'd definitely go for a full Irish breakfast. Bonus points if there's mushrooms you can fry up along with it. Additional bonus points for boxty.
 
Hmmm… that’s HARD. If i’m cooking, then either chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and super sweet corn, or chicken tetrazzini with garlic Texas toast. If I’m not cooking it, then my family’s chicken garlic spinach ravioli with the meatballs and sauce and garlic Texas toast.
 
One home cooked meal I’ve made a few times that is pretty easy to prepare. It’s called Italian drunken noodles and it’s basically bell peppers,canned diced tomatoes, ground italian sausage, garlic, onions, and some white wine. You cook all of the vegetables and sausage together and then remove from the pan and pour in the tomatoes and wine and start a reduction. The noodles used just need to be flat and long.

Wow I posted this 12 years ago and the thread is back.

I now make my bolognese in the slow cooker, so not as quick!

Halloumi pasta bakes, beef stroganoff, and pulled pork tacos are now among my favourite home-cooked meals. But I still love a good bol.
 
Are we talking simple meals or anything? Because for simple I like grilled cheese. Especially with a slice of ham or a tomato in it. For more indepth meals I really like soups. I love this salmon pumpkin soup I first made about 2 years ago and have made several batches since then. I used most of the ingredients from my garden including pumpkin. I have a large batch frozen that I will thaw out whenever I next use my vacation time so I have meals already planned.
 
Cabbage rolls hands down. The cabbage rolls at restaurants/grocery stores just ain't up to my standards, lol. It takes a while to make because I do it with boiled cabbage not pickled (tastes better when boiled 🤌 ) but you make a ton of them in one go and can freeze the leftovers 😋 They're pretty freezer durable!

A home-cooked burger can be one of the best things you can ever taste. The thought even makes me hungry.
 
Pretty much any kind of rice or chicken dish cooked at my house, I'll eat! I also cook French Fries by myself and love the way they turn out.
