what's your current island project?

just this morning i started renovating the top left corner of my island. it was a flat surface with a few houses, but now i'm terraforming it to be a tiered cliff, with a house and some greenery on each layer. i have exactly enough inclines left to do all 3 layers thankfully!

i'm also renovating my upstairs room and decorating it for thanksgiving, trying to find the last few furniture pieces i need for that and getting it all laid out. (if any of y'all have an extra wedding candle set lying around let me know )

so what about you all? what are you working on on your islands?

I'm trying to turn my island into a fall wonderland! lol I'm not a huge halloween person but I'm super excited for all of the fall and mushroom recipes. Overall I kinda want my island to be a mix of European plaza vibes but with some cool forest areas further back!

Building a small mini campsite before I actually place the campsite plot down! I'm also working on laying out what I want to terraform and what I want to keep, since I really enjoy the natural layout of my town!

I'm mostly done with landscaping so I'm working on decorating all the houses on my island. Also trying to complete more badges and finishing the museum.

My current island project is removing/transplanting a billion hybrids. I may have gone a bit wild buying hybrids from people on the forums back in March-April and they of course had many hybrid babies and yeah, there’s so many flowers that I can’t design the back half of my island. I’m also currently working on redoing the main room in my house, which initially had the cute white set and a bunch of pink stuff in it. I’d like to move on from excessive pink into a more realistic modern style.

Removing Halloween stuff, trying to pick out a location and theme for Freya, Wolfgang, and Filbert's homes, inventory cleaning, and the constant war on flowers. I keep pushing them into unused areas on my island in case I need them to decorate with, but they have ate my remaining land and even my beaches now.

Well I took down the Halloween stuff that you can't just turn around to make it pumpkins and not jack-o-lanterns. Leaving the things like the Spooky Tower and Spooky Lantern turned around so you can't see the faces. Then they're still harvesty!

So now I'm looking to get the mushroom DIY recipes and all that. I had fall stuff in September, so that's all still out there, and I added more hay beds and regular scarecrows to replace some of the Halloween type stuff I took down. Going to have to look at getting regular street lights or something too. I should probably try to get rid of some flowers too, because there are a TON of them, especially on my cliffs. But gosh, that will take forever.

I'm mostly working on renovating the back of my island. I plan to move all my residents' homes back there. There's a lot of tree's to move + a lot of paths to put down, so I have quite a bit of work to do, but I am thankful for the pinterest ideas that I've been looking up that have given me the inspiration I need! (When I got terraforming, I was very overwhelmed with everything and didn't know where to start, so it's definitely helping a lot!)

I don't really have a set project at the moment so much as a bunch of long term objectives that I put work into whenever I find the inspiration and/or drive to do so. Those objectives would be:

- Cut down on my ridiculous amount of flowers. I sought to acquire all of the hybrid varieties of all of the flowers, which I accomplished, but they kept breeding and now portions of the island are overrun.

- As it stands, the shops are a bit cramped, so I want to spread them out more in their designated portion of the island. They ended up so cramped together as a result of the limitations of exploration in the early game.

- Set up enough items around the island to finally earn the 5 Star rating. I set so many decorations up for Halloween, and even utilized a bunch of fencing, and still didn't earn it yet, so I have no idea what ridiculous amount of stuff the game wants me to set up.

- Acquire and donate the remaining fish (I only need one more now), deep sea creatures and artwork to the museum and, as a result, fill out the creature catalog on at least my main player character.

- Furnish all of my characters' homes.

- Keep working to fill out the catalog for clothing and furniture.

There might be something I'm forgetting, but that's all that came to mind.

I wouldn't say project, but trying my best to make it my hero themed as possible. It became harder than planned, but I'm always up for the challenge

My cluttered island was overwhelming and I was burnt out. But fall is my favorite season and I love the holidays so I’m working on cleaning up. I’m also deciding if I want to make a neighborhood section and give my island a little more structure. Since all the houses are strewn about it makes it hard to design. I just need to figure out where to put all the houses. What’s the best way to measure for the plots? I don’t want to move the houses a million times

I found a bunch of ideas on Pinterest that is helping me decide this kind of stuff! I initially made my villagers small yards, but after finding this, I reconsidered and am moving them. I probably won't make the yards as huge, but it helped me make a step in the right direction!

Now that Halloween's over I'm going to tear down the middle portion of my island and completely redo it. It's not a huge portion so I don't think it will take too long to flatten, but I'm not really looking forward to the clean up. My first 3 villagers Scoot, Ursala, and Jambette, have had the same plots since they first moved in and I basically built the middle section around their houses. This limited a lot of the ideas I wanted to try out, so I think it's finally time to redo it. After that, depending on where I move my alt character, I may finally do some interior decorating for him. I've been putting it off because I was uninspired by the furnitures available.

My whole island is a project at the moment my island is broken into 5 parts and I hated how it looked like when I would walk past certain areas and just couldn’t look at it. I was quite hard on myself but I just didn’t like it. I have been going through each part and making it to how I like so I have finished part one which is the front part of my island also the biggest part out of the 5. I’m nearly finished with part 2 I feel like I’m finally getting somewhere too

About half of my island was overgrown with flowers. I'm trying to get rid of all of them and will turn it into a marketplace with the two shops and maybe some stands for coffee. Kinda City Folk style with a fountain in the middle, some benches, the city music.
Not sure about the fountain though. I might just terraform the river so that it goes into the city square and ends there in a little pond. Haven't really decided yet.
