hi! i took a 6 month hiatus from acnl >< yes i can't believe it either hehe...
aaand whats with amiibo cards???
∘ the 1-4 series with a town character/ villager on it?
∘ the one with camp trucks??
∘ the figures???

6 months gone and im back at square one rip xD

AND, CAN THEY BE USED MORE THAN ONCE? on the same device/ different one?

the main reason is that people use them to get the villagers you want, there's series 1-4 and the packs are random which is annoying however you can buy single amiibo cards online.
a few villagers from previous games are back and the only way you can get them are using your amiibo cards. there are also new sanrio based characters and again, you have to use an amiibo card.
you get previous villagers and sanrio villagers in their own caravan and you can get them to move in. they all have their own special furniture too that you can buy with MEOW coupons.
you need to scan them first by finding Wisp, he's inside a lamp. he'll call for you. find it, put the lamp in your house, change the day and he'll be ready. you need an amiibo reader as well.
the figures are amiibos like Marie, Ganon, W. Link, etc. they now can be villagers and they come in a caravan too.

All of these can be scanned through Wisp, I'm assuming you know how that works.
- series 1-4 can be asked for an item upon scanning. Villagers can also be asked to move in; if your town is full you can force somebody out.
- the Welcome Amiibo cards (series 5) can be asked for an item or to "come and play", this meaning their RV shows up in your Campground. You can order items from them in their RV and ask them to move in.
- the amiibo figures are the same as the series 5 cards, except for the moving in part. They'll show up in your Campground with a special RV and some items you can't get anywhere else.
