OK now quite a few times my villagers have mentioned something to do with ReTail and StreetPass...

On days you pass by a lot of other people via StreetPass...

The number of items the recycle shop will pay more for goes up!

I really don't know how it works, but this kind of news is always good news, right?
As I have 3 children that all play ACNL I get 3 StreePass' each day. I haven't noticed anything with ReTail paying more bells for items or anything.

Does anyone know more about this and exactly how it works? How many StreetPass' do you need, and how much extra does Reese pay, etc?

Thanks,
-Lisa.

I think streetpassing people increases the chance of there being more than one item that Reese will pay premium for

But I dont know for certain because I never streetpass anyone

Yes, that's right - on days when I've streetpassed, there have been two or three items listed on the board instead of just one.

I think you need to have streetpassed 5 people before it starts adding items. ~ I generally get 2-3 a day and never have anything added then. - The items that will be worth more that day are the premium items ~ listed on the board out the front of Re-tail.

Most I've seen was after going to a streetpass meet, I got about 60 hits then and I had 5 items listed in the board.

Hmm, thanks everyone. I wasn't sure whether it meant a highter price for that 1 item listed, but it seems to be more items added to the ReTail premium price instead.

I guess I'm with Jinglefruit as my 3 daughters play ACNL, but I forgot to mention that I have a spare DS with NL so I get 4 streetpasses daily and still only 1 item listed.

The most people I've seen on StreetPass is 5, but I didn't check the board that day (oopsies!) There doesn't seem to be many peeps in my area to StreetPass with unfortunately. I only get random ones when I take my DS out with me for food shopping, etc. But sometimes doing that results in no new ones. Just the luck of the draw finding new peeps here.

Another weird thing I've noticed is that sometimes I take both DS's out at the same time, but most of the time either one or the other picks up a StreetPass and the other doesn't. Anyone with more than 1 DS noticed that at all?

This explains why I sometimes have more than one item on their. I thought it was only bell boom that added an extra item

This often happens to me and my brother, too. When we go do things together and we both take our 3DS with us, most of the time there's a few streetpasses we share and a few that only either one of us has. And I often keep my brother's 3DS in my bag, so I know it's not because we're walking too far apart.

Having said that, I have no idea why this happens, either!

The first streetpass I ever got from a stranger, My friend (who I was sitting on a bench with at the time) didnt get it. Which was sad, because streetpasses are really rare here.

That's because each DS can only exchange data with one other DS at a time. If you have two, they have to take turns. If you or the person you're streetpassing is moving, only one DS will have time to exchange info before they're out of range. If they're in range long enough they'll all have time to exchange info (say in a restaurant where everyone is sitting down for a bit)

This explains what has been puzzling me for a while now. Whenever I am travelling with my two DSs one sometimes picks up a street pass but not the other. I however noticed that when I have been travelling by train and stop at a station for a while or when in a shopping center walking at a leisurely pace both of them pick up the same street pass.

I posted on another thread about this, but it appears to be true. A friend was several weeks into not having a 10th villager. At a convention, picked up a ton of street passes. 10th villager was in place this morning. Always has at least 3 items as premium at Re-Tail. I deleted most of mine because the houses were boring.

Ooo yay. I streetpass the same 6 people at school everyday.

If nothing else, use them in the Mii Plaza to play games. You're not actually playing with them. But you can do the puzzle thing or Find Mii. The higher their level (which goes up each time you pass) the better the playing is.
