What's the advantage of the golden tools now?

Other than lasting longer, of course, but I heard that ALL tools are breakable now.
I unlocked the recipe for the golden slingshot today and was just wondering if there are any potential advantages to using that over using just a normal one (will I get better presents, DIY's, etc.)?
If not, then I kind of feel it's a waste of the golden nuggets which can be used to craft durable furniture items after all (today I crafted a gold dung beetle of all things).
So yeah... in your experience... is there any advantage at all?

P.S. - I'm aware that the golden watering can can help you breed golden roses if you water the black ones with it.

The golden slingshot has 1 pellet instead of the 3 from past games, so the only advantage for it is that it lasts longer.

I can't say anything about the others though. I think the only advantage this time round is that they last longer.

I wonder if they'll add diamond tools or something better than gold. I think that would be cool, and these ones could have their special abilities.

I believe only the Golden Watering Can is the one you'll most likely want. All of them are just a waste. And don't bother with a gold axe as you can just use the cleanup service to get rid of trees without hassle. It's slow, but it'll save you materials. Only use the axe if you want stumps.

I, honestly, wish they give us the ability to craft permanent tools at some point.
I know it's kinda not a biggie to just craft because they don't use so many materials but it's annoying to have them break on your all the time.

I agree. I generally like gathering resources when the resulting creations are worth it but I am finding it kind of stressful knowing that there is no end in sight. Also, islands are a lot bigger now and it’s not engaging or fun to have to stop what I’m doing because a tool broke, run to a crafting station, get my mats out and create a replacement. Sure I could set up crafting stations all over the island, but without nearby storage it feels like a waste to me.

The only one I have used so far is the gold watering can. Advance to it other then last longer, is that it also waters more at one time then other watering cans. Which is nice if you plan on making hybrids. But if you aren't making hybrids, you don't really have to water the flowers anyways.

They last longer, so you don't have to craft them as often. Especially if you don't want to customize them to reset their uses. Though, the one with the most usefulness is the golden watering can for golden roses.

the golden watering can waters a wider radius of flowers and is of course needed for gold roses.. i find it the most useful thus far

Considering how hard they are to get literally only the watering can is useful, at least in previous games they had more uses here they break, can’t be customised and cost gold ore to boot.

I've shot down two golden nuggets with the golden slingshot. In the 300 balloons it took to get the recipe, I never once found golden nuggets.

They are not that great and might not be worth using a gold nugget on in my opinion. I got the golden slingshot after shooting down my 300th balloon and after crafting it, it lasted for 2 days. Longer than a normal slingshot? Sure but I can't see myself using a gold nugget every 2 days to make one...

The gold watering can made me cry (in a good way) when I was gifted one. So I'd say that gold tools make good gifts?

In all seriousness, though, I am in the same position with the golden slingshot as the above poster. I could craft one, but if it is only going to last a day or two, I would rather craft my gold into something that I can keep.

just last longer that's it I prefer to use the cute tools that the upgraded shop sells and just customize them if I think their about to break to reset durability

Apart from the golden watering can, golden tools are basically just for bragging rights imo. Its much easier to just use a regular tool and customize it at regular intervals for better durability.

I use golden tools, already got slingshot, watering can, and axe, they're expensive to craft, but my time is worth more than a couple pieces of gold a week.

Hit rocks! They are still rare but you'll get them mostly from there! Balloons with gold nuggets are even rarer than the rocks imo

Eh, I do both. I hit 6 rocks today 8 times, no gold nugget. I'm sure it'll take less than 48 balloons to find 1, especially if I only go for the blue ones.

Honestly, golden tools breaking is the only thing that actually gives my golden nuggets use lmao. The only other thing I'd do is sell them and that just feels so useless.
