For me, it has to be Clay the lazy hamster. I thought he looked super bizarre at first but looking closer, he has a really cool ancient design. Plus I'm weak for lazy & smol villagers in general.
So when I started my town I had some characters that I wanted to get and apple was not on the list. At first I thought that she was a little weird in some ways, but then as I played more and more she started to grow on me and before I knew it she became my favorite character <3
So, I get a new move-in, and the game informs me that my new villager is called Sparro. I look him up, and am not particularly pleased by his appearance. Then I realise... he's placed his house in the PERFECT SPOT. He's lined his house up exactly with two others, right in front of the Town Hall, creating a bustling residential area entirely by accident. So I decided to give him a chance, and man, I really like him! That and he fits the town colour scheme perfectly.
In City Folk, Francine was one of my starting villagers and I had no idea she even existed. I thought she was kind of weird looking at first, but as I talked to her more she quickly became one of my all-time favourites! I was heartbroken when she moved out, but I have her back in my New Leaf town.
Also, Canberra. I remember one day I was scrolling through a thread somewhere about people complaining about having Canberra in their town and I was laughing at their bad luck, and of course, the very next day Canberra set up a plot in my town. I hated her at first, but she really grew on me as well and she's now my favourite uchi villager. I was pretty sad when she finally moved out as well, but I'm planning to get her back.
Definitely Deirdre. I haven't liked many Uchi villagers in the past, and I thought I wanted Fauna as a deer villager, but I love her so far! She's so cute and funny.
Genji! I used to not like Genji that much, but as I looked at him more and more and saw him in my campsite a few times, I actually grew to love him. He's the most adorable bunny. ;w; I regret not moving him in from the campsite in the past!
