Okay, so imagine that you are asked to be a person's date to a dance by someone you didn't want to go with. What would you say to that person?

I personally, would feel REALLY bad but I would probably just tell them the truth that I don't really care to go with them. The person would obviously know if I was making up some lame excuse and it's better to just be upfront. The reason why I am asking this question is because people in my school are asking other kids to the winter formal (yes... already) So I was just curious what other people would do/say.

Since I'm just ridiculously manly, women tend to flock to me and ask ME to dances and stuff like this.

I usually give them the ol' "Eh, I don't really think I'm gonna' go, actually." thing.

I mean, you've gotta' say somethingg. Don't go with someone you don't wanna' go with.

Would you go if someone else asked you? If so, then be nice, but honest. Let them know you're flattered, but you don't think of them in that way. If you don't think you'll have any other prospects and you really want to go, say yes, but make sure they know it's strictly friends and won't lead to anything else.

You might have fun with this person, especially if you as just friends.

Just be honest. But don't do it in a manner that will turn them into an insane crazy stalker that wants to kill you and wear your skin. Always, always a bad scenario.

And I am not asking for advice or anything, it's just an imaginary situation ;-) When I read some people's posts it seemed like they thought I was asking for advice lol.

It works. Girls don't like perverted dances.

I believe the proper term is Mating Ritual.

Haha, my friend and I were talking about how people say "the worst thing she can say is no" and we decided that that's actually one of the better things that they can say. One time I asked a girl and she said yes, then a day later she changed her mind. I was bummed. Then we started talking about if the initial answer was no, then she changed her mind to yes. We decided that this could go either way, it either meant that you improved yourself, or that she lowered her standards, and when that happens, she probably doesn't want to even be there.

Off topic, but just make sure your answer is the one you want and stick with it.

@grawr, so if someone you don't want to go to the dance with says no you'd rather just skip the dance? O.o
