I really like the bracelet idea, transparent designs, optional grass deterioration, skin tones, PWP rotation, backpacks, the return of playable SNES games, and the option to add bangs onto hairstyles lacking them.
Even though NL?s villager birthday celebrations are a vast improvement compared to WW (I can?t remember CF?s, though they?re probably the same as Wild World), I hope the next game makes them even more interactive. It?d be cute if we could play little games -- like charades, rock-paper-scissors, et cetera -- and receive party favors (as well as a slice of cake, which comes in various flavors, some being rarer than others). What you receive would vary depending on your friendship level, and there could be eight ?sets? of four to five party favors (one set being for each personality type). But if you don?t bring a gift, you may not receive anything -- this will depend on the birthday animal?s personality, friendship levels, and whether or not you?ve been ignoring them. If you?re good friends with the villager, they?ll give you cake and a party favor anyway (especially if they?re an uchi or normal). If you aren't remotely close with them, then they'll run out of party favors before you arrive. Not really expecting your attendance, they forget to save one for you. This might even happen regardless of you bringing a gift or not. However, they could still give you a slice of cake.
I?d also like varying degrees of each personality type. While I?ve detected some faint differences between villagers of the same nature -- Skye seems more insecure and studious than Goldie, for example -- it would be nice if these distinctions were prominent.
Additional mayoral tasks would be great. I like the idea of mayors activating the lighthouse in Isabelle?s stead for a number of days/weeks? Also, maybe you could create your own events? This would most likely require strict regulations, so they can?t be scheduled for each day. But, like PWPs, you start off with a list of default events -- such as Yay Day or La-Di-Day from WW. Soon, villagers will suggest their own ideas, and you customize it from there.
To ensure at least one of your favorite animals will not leave whenever you?re on a hiatus, maybe you could enlist their help as a housekeeper while the mayor is on ?vacation?? As long as they?re caring for your house, they cannot move out. This would also eradicate cockroach infestations without the Beautiful Town Ordinance. Well... Unless the housekeeper is a lazy or snooty, who may not rid the house of all pests. That said, there are risks. Upon returning, your house might appear different from when you last saw it. A snooty, for example, may be incapable of resisting an urge to rearrange the furniture, just a bit? A normal might bring over her pet bugs and/or fish for company. Regarding their own furniture, the villager will leave something behind in your house -- there?s a chance it could be a rare item. If you approach them, they will either accept the item and gift you with a different reward, or let you have the forgotten furniture as a ?welcome home? present. But if you keep the item for yourself, the villager will eventually remember their lost belonging and make a surprise visit. If you refrain from returning their item (or sold it earlier), your friendship level with the villager will decrease. Indignant and disappointed, a cranky, jock, or snooty might demand a monetary amount for the lost item. For any personality type, they may or may not even accept your next housekeeping request. But, once you prepare for another hiatus after that, they'll begin accepting requests again.
A cooking aspect would be nice, as well? Animals, especially normals, could share recipes with you during house visits. It'd also be great if there was a wider variety of favors/interactions/dialogue for the animals (maybe they could even reintroduce the time limit when delivering packages). Villagers requesting fruit is to NL as animals asking for clothes is to WW. XD
I?d like new PWPs, of course, and the ability to ?stack? flowers as you can fruit. Also, a larger map (which, in turn, allows for over thirty PWPs), and more space for patterns.
Lastly, maybe they could reintroduce the ?episodes? from Wild World? While the Able Sisters? story was quietly concluded with Labelle?s return and a brief conversation between the other siblings, perhaps the game makers could begin another arc? Or wrap up a preexisting one? Will we find out if Tom Nook reconciled with Sable? And what of Isabelle and Digby? What was their past like? Perhaps a bakery will become a new PWP (or an extension of the cafe), and the female pigeon running the store shares a backstory with Brewster?
...once again, I've written something far longer than I originally intended. I'm sorry about the length. DX
