what will happen when i press the off button when the game is saving?

hmm, I don't think anything usually happens. I'm guessing there's a chance your game will get corrupted, but it's very slim.

Best case scenario you lose your most recent progress
Worst case scenario the cartridge/SD card becomes corrupted and unusable.

Should do much if you did it once, not much different to disconnecting when saving on wireless. Do you intend to? :-P

I think it's mostly a 50/50 chance, from what I've seen, that you'll either corrupt your save or just lose your progress.

You'd either lose your current data or get your entire game corrupted, meaning all your villagers, flowers, and items are completely gone. weirdly though, if you had a dream town you can still see your town until it gets deleted by not being updated. thats exactly why they have a warning right there to not touch the power button.

nope. just wanna satisfy my curiosity on this topic.
