What will acorns be used for?

It's day 2 on my island, and I've been shaking trees for branches for making fishing rods to pay off my house, and some of those trees had acorns fall out of them. I know there's going to be some fall event soon, but in the meantime I would really like to know what kind of purpose acorns will serve?

It's for seasonal DIYs The ones using acorns and pinecones are already available. Isabelle should give you one at some point and you can get the others from popping balloons and I think from the message bottles as well.

I've just got two concerns:
1. I haven't found any pinecones, so I want to ask if they are rarer or have a different way to find them?
2. I don't have Isabelle yet. Possibly because I'm only 2 days in?

for pine cones, you have to shake cedar trees to get them cedar trees drop pine cones while oak/fruit trees drops acorn.

Since you don't have Isabelle, you will eventually gain all the diys through balloons or the message bottles.
