Main town is the city that I live in. It was suppose to be a different name but it didn't fit.
My Guest town is lazytown. It was going to be Ladysmith but it didn't fit. It's a place we visited a lot or stopped to take a break from driving down or up the island. Nice place to spend a lazy afternoon.

I thought of random words mixed together, and I put together a rather unique one: Krytalis. I was thinking of a cocoon, or something, and it popped up.

Moonview is based off of Moonview Highway from Mario Kart Wii, which is a track that takes place in a bright town during the nighttime, which was my original envision for the town.

Sapphire is based off the gemstone.

It's named after Marina and the Diamonds album called "Electra Heart". I originally was going to call it Electran, but thankfully I refused against it haha.

I named my town Phoenix after my dog. We got her about a week before I got New Leaf. I was also considering creating a Harry Potter themed town at the time, and I guess phoenixes are loosely related to Harry Potter.

Everyone here has such cool town names! I took forever to name mine, I wanted something really good, that I could stick with for awhile. I ended up settling on East Bay -how boring.

I had a neighbour from my Wild World days who named their town 'vet' because they didn't understand what they were meant to do. They kept with that same town for years and years after.
